@4Gforlife you may want to look into the history of the poem and do some research on carolyn forche. the colonel was not a good man. thinking of those bad governments in africa and such. can you imagine meeting with one of those leaders? image if they had the cut off ears of their victims? - jessie

can you explain the part about the ears? what was the purpose? why would he cut off the ears? what does the last line suggest?
