though i still wouldnt advise to use this for climbing, if you throw this over a branch and the grappling hook hooks onto its own rope when it slings over it, the friction between the cord and branch will take almost half youre weight or so and the grappling hook probably will hold. but i still wouldnt advise climbing high things like buildings.
I like your reviews. You review the item give us your opinion and are honest about it. All without all the pointless "Tacticool" bs, like some other person on YouTube, not mentioning names. Sounds like Shnutnschmancy.
Hey, Jeff. Do you know if the Pocket Grappling Hook can support the weight of a 150lb man when coupled with a good cord? Also, do you have any cord recommendations? I do a lot of climbing, but still don't have a grappling hook.
i love your videos and everything, but honestly i think this is the stupidest thing you ever bought, u will probably never use this in your entire life
@SHS3630 retrieivng fishign line caught in a tree or schrubs, getting rope or other material out from behind somethign like a kitchen appliance or stuff that dropped into water you can get in, numerous other purposes
@cutlerylover or maybe when hiking hanging your personal stuff or food high up on in a tree , or for making a raised shelter on a branck orso ... numerous things altough most people would consider it useless as they cant come up with a better idea besides a ninja grapling hook ...
Does anyone know if countycomm ship to the UK? I tried on the website to order this exact grappling hook, and it said shipping was £0.00. I assume it is not free shipping, so anyone know much about it?
I've used this with paracord to throw out of a window onto a lower platform. Then attach a D-ring onto a bag and slide it down it. This is good if you have breakable stuff in it, its better then throwing onto the ground.
I have had mine for months now, I love it and have been saprisedhow many times it's come in handy... County comm is definitalymy favorite source of gear!
I dont know why, but i just love pocket sized stainless steel stuff! Especially the leatherman micra. I like the weight and theyre very durable i guess.
I have one of these coming in the mail right now. Bought it because I thought it looked cool, but I honestly have no idea how I'm ever going to use it. lol.
Its not mean for people to use to clime anythgin liek a traditional grappling hook so I dotn know what it coudl take before breaking, its mean for the EOD guys over in Iraq for demolitions...howveer for cord, 550 cord holds just that 550 lbs...but I woudl NOT recommend trying to climb a building with this little guy, it was not meant for that...
@cutlerylover 550 cord is a stupid climbing rope (no offense). Look into the specs for actual climbing rope...they hold up to thousands of pounds of shock load for safety. As you said about the hook, 550 cord is NOT meant for that. Thanks for the great reviews!
@zanuha What a well-thought out response. Since you're such an expert, would you care to enlighten me on how MANY parachute cords are used in a single GI parachute? Or whether parachute cord is indeed still used for that purpose? Look into the specifications of climbing rope and the reasons for them.
If the end of the barrel with the 3 threads was pointed you would be able to use it as a fishing spear (obviously with a suitably sized tree part inserted in the open end). This would also require another hole through the barrel (rendering it not waterproof) so it could be bound to your spear shaft.
Maybe they'll produce another model after reading this ;-)
Your right...Its was just one of those thgins you know...Maybe I cna trade it in the future for a knife, who knows, lol, it was just a cool "toy" I wanted to check out for myself...
I made one, just didn't have time to upload it today, actually that was the one I was a little dissapointed in, you will see what I mean when I get the video up...
I'd be the guy to swing it around the living room and have it go through the LED tv
