Matt; I've worked out a version of this song as well but in the key of F.I'm trying to learn the Formby strumming you do so well but can't quite get it yet.
I'd like to offer something for your consideration I'm pretty sure the diminished chord you play at the end of the bridge part is simply a B flat Maj. when you're playing in D.Listen to the Frank and Nancy recording and I think you'll see what I mean.
I am one of the 3 'Uke'girls by you on stage at the 40s night at Worrall Hill and wanted to thank you for your work on the CD and generous musicianship on the night.
By the way, I have a new 'Uke' ambition- unlikely to ever be realised- to play 'Something Stupid' half as well as your U tube clip. It is just brilliant. I love it! Jane
WOW, I came online to find this song by Frank Sinatra, next thing I know I'm spending all day watching Matthew's videos over and over. Never really thought too much about the ukulele before, but you are incredible Mr. Richards. Thank you for that.
Very good! I have a soprano uke but the frets are really too small for me. I'll probably just give it to a kindergarten kid with small hands. I should have got a bigger uke like the one you play.
Sorry Ben. I am sure you know that no offense was intended by my ignorance of the historical facts. It was one of my favorite songs of the late 60's when I lived in New York. Actually my compliments were directed to Mathew's sincere and humble talented style. I still believe that the Angels and Saints in Heaven enjoy listening to Matthew playing it down here!! Your Dad composed a beautiful melody.
Frank Sinatra never made that melody sound so beautiful. I hope he is in Heaven now telling the Angels that you are playing his melody. I am sure he would be proud of you
Truthfully, it wasn't Frank's melody. It was my dad's. You did a very good job. I love hearing different versions and non-typical instrument versions. Thanks for keeping his spirit alive.

What can I say Matt? You are now a star of the uke. We all know, and appreciate your key board skills but your uke playing is now second to none. it just proves that you listened to everything I told you in the Sunday morning Lessons at Blackpool
It's morning in Los Angeles, just finished my Morning Prayers, turned on my computer and listened to your rendition of this beautiful number on the Ukulele. What a great way to start the day. Thank you Matthew.
I am playing a vintage 'keetch' Tenor Ukulele, aprox late 1920's, same type George Formby played in the 1935 film (No Limit). I am using Aquila strings.

@throwmebob Hey. Thanks for your comments. Would like to hear your version, is it uploaded?
Yes your right it is B Flat major Chord - I have added extra notes to the chord, to make it more Jazzy.

Matt
