I doubt those whales would have swollowed him. I've had a close encounter like that myself with a humpback myself. We get them here in Jamaica. Didn't know the whale was near me till I heard its trade mark noise they make from that spout on their head.
You guys had the experience of a lifetime!!! I just experienced that last week in Santa Cruz, but the whales were lunge feeding, not bubble net feeding, no closer to me than 50 feet. Awesome!
They never got nearly swallowed by a humpback whale.... almost would be the whale accidentally mistaking them as some food and almost eating them but realizing they are people. The whales here I bet knew those people were there and wanted to show off so they chased the fish right to the side of them just so they could do that. Whales aren't dumb ya'know.
Risking their lives for a few pictures? How dense can some people be? How would their families have felt if they got killed? Would these people saunter up to a 'Grizz' and offer it a sandwich just to get a picture? These are the same kind of people who insist on skidooing in avalanche zones! DUH 'R' THEM
