I want them for our newly dug pond but as we live on a farm and have snakes, herons, raccoon, foxes, stray cats, hawks, owls and all sorts of other critters, I may try some goldfish first until we can get lilies established and create ample hiding spaces and ledges! Easier to lose a goldfish to the 'circle of life' for a few bucks than a pond full of expensive koi! We'll ease into them!!!!!

I love these fish! I have a fish pond and just got three koi and I still have one of my goldfish (most of the goldfish died) I have 2 platinum whites and 1 platinum gold (they were the only koi they had where I bought them)

i rarely feed any of my fish every other day. its not good for them unless you are SURE they are hungrey! dont believe the Twice a day crap. i trained mine to be fed twice a week. usually in the summer maybe 1 time because i have them in a pond in natural surroundings they get nice and large in the summer.

depends but you really want to look for Japanese koi best quality.And it all depends on colors and Patterns. A good one of 5 to 6 inch will run from 100 bucks to 200 and a big 24 inch could run you up to two thousand dollars or more.I know someone the has some over 3 feet and he was offered 7000 dollars and he refused it. My 24 inch Japanese Koi will run you over 2000 bucks they are of good quality Japanese Koi. Don't settle for anything less Japanese are the BEST!!

I thought that Tancho Goshiki looked really familiar, then I realized that's the one we purchased from Inland a while back, it's out back in the pond heh. She is doing very well and has put on some nice girth as of late. Actually have a few videos with her in it on my channel, along with several other Nishikigoi from there.

Man. How'd you get your water to be so clear? I have a pump, waterfall, and homemade filter filtration system and my water's still going green. Also, a have of my pond is covered with aquatic plants so the water shouldn't be going green. How'd you do it? You use a bunch of chemicals?

how big is ur pond? if its about 800 gallons or bigger u need about a 70-90 gallon filter and a submersiable pump that pumps about mabe 1800 and hour and buy a bactireal chemical, i forgot what its called and another chemical i think its called algegon but i dont remmember that, but after that it should be clear after mabe a couple weeks

Whatever koifish I have evr kept have always been beautiful and hilarious, have you ever had them try to come up to you as you feed them? My one's do that, they stick their heads out of the water, up to their eyes!

Well I have 4 in a 46 gallon tank. I dont want HUGE koi, but probally about 10 inches will be nice.

its just so hard to find really really nice looking Koi. I have them on color enhanching food now and its bringing out a lot of their yellows and silvers.
