While it's obvious that Eastern cultures are adopting more and more Western customs, I see this particular commercial as being more about Oreos being portrayed as a symbol that can be universally enjoyed, hence the girls following exactly the same patterns, as if they were looking into a mirror (i.e. not copying). Also, the commercial first aired during the Beijing Olympics, which carried the message "One World, One Dream." I'm glad they're still showing it on TV, it's a heartwarming commercial.
