What Val doesn't realise is you can't have a top horse, yeah it might well be a good jumper, but the rider needs to be equally as skilled, and she needs to know her horse, not just ride it in a show and then dump it on a groom until another show comes up. Thats not the way it works tbh

In the show scenes, on Spartan. They're just BAD haha! I notice things like that; I worked as a pro braider at AA hunter shows and have also braided for CCI**** eventers. Bad braids make my skin crawl.

The horse isn't inconsistent... every time Ashley's mum shows up, she starts riding badly. at the first show Ashley faulted the lat rail... just as her mum arrived. then she jumped a perfect practice round at home, but as soon as her mum showed up she knocked a rail... coincidence? I think not!

That's a harsh statement. I tend to agree, but only when talking about a trained horse. An untrained horse, which is what I work with all the time, takes time to bring around and no matter how good s rider you are sometimes the hors fails to listen and it's not ONLY the riders fault.

the best part about this show (besides graham wardle :D) is that the cast are all completely natural actors. a lot of horse movies and stuff are really cheesy because the acting looks fake, but heartland is really good. all the characters are totally believable.

they got the number of ashley's faults wrong. apollo hit the jump with his foreleg (i think) so that should actually be 4 faults not one.

and i feel sorry for ashley. her mother is horrible to her. i get a third place at a show and my family is ecstatic! she really loves apollo, but to her mom the horses are just a way to make money.
