actually tesla was killed because he knew the things he knew all his papers were burned as well he actually built a lightbulb but eddison stole it because tesla work for him.
This is the legend of atlintis (acccording to egyptan hyrogliphycs): Atlantis was near cuba and the bahamas and ect*. The civilizations had aliens living in them with technology. It sank 12,000 years ago for somereason. There was adew survivors who traveled through europe and to egypt and yea.
Damascus steal is not a lost technology it is no longer used today because Damascus steal (the prosess of laminating inferior metals than folding them over each other to make many layers (usually between 8 and 1000000)) was a way to make poor quality metal usable for making weapons nearly modern steal is vastly better.
damascus steel is simple and very well known, even custom knife makers with no particular education in craftsmanship can make it. It has also been used by the Japanese Samurais since the birth of their time. Just layers of different steel folded many times over and over, like a wrapping rather than a solid mass
some of these are not really lost technologies, we know how to make the substances mentioned, theyre just not used today because we have improved methods of making the same things
IT'S NOT CALLED GREEK FIRE,IT'S CALLED "LIQUID FIRE","ΥΓΡΟ ΠΥΡ"...GREEK(ΓΡΑΙΚΟΣ,ΓΡΑΙΚΙΑ) IS A TERM USED MUCH LATER BY OTHOMANS TO DESCRIBE THE REGION(OCCUPIED BY OTHOMANS) THAT NOW IS GREECE.HELLAS,HELLENIC(ΕΛΛΑΣ,ΕΛΛΑΔΑ) IS THE PROPER TERM IF USED SUCH SO.
@bi8koto Of course I can read them, it's just an immature and annoying way of trying to get as many people to read your comment as possible. Yes, they're there to be used.....at the beginning of a sentence, on certain words (ie. names, places etc etc) or to emphasize a certain point (as in one or two words, not an entire comment).
@plasterdbastard lol the Greek fire was a fire used like a flamethrower from ships and scripts say that even when their enemies dive into water to save themselves they were still burning. Thats why it first!!!
Greek fire was used by the Arabs, Mongols and Chinese as well. It is only because of the secret nature of the Byzantine recipe that "Greek Fire" has been popularised.
With the advent of gunpowder and the modern petrochemical industry, its also useless.
There are several other lost technologies on this list alone that warrant greater attention and rank than Greek fire, even if you left it on this list.
@plasterdbastard I mean which technologies in the list... And liquid fire(not greek as named by the ottomans) was not used by Arabs, Mongols and Chinese. Greeks didn't use gunpowder. Also liquid fire was so popular bacause you could not put it out with water.
Greek Fire was a term applied to incendiary weapons used by all manner of army by Europeans for a long time. I would put most, if not all, of the technologies in this list above "liquid fire". We have superior weapons that render Greek fire useless and ineffective.
@plasterdbastard you see the point is that I am Greek. I assure you the weapon's name was liquid fire be sure of that. And the list is for lost technologies and not lost civilizations...So the Piramides are not a lost techonology, the way they were built is.So they cant be on the list because we cant say if the technology is realy exist. The Atlantis also not a technology, but a continent.
@plasterdbastard Also the death ray. Cant say it is not worth a spot in the list, but the invator only claimed to have it we cant be sure of it's existance. The flying chariots also the same. I do hope that this is enought evidaece to make some research before you make comment about technology and science agian.
Your English must be very poor, because I made no such statement, nor did I make the video, and you seem to believe that I've made some comment of Egyptians and Atlantis...
I'm also an engineer, so, trust me, I know a considerable deal more about science and technology than you do.
@plasterdbastard Then to what other technologies in the list are you skeaking of? And beeing an engineer means that you know my history and culture better than me?
Also, I know that you didnt make that video and the statement you did was that many of the techonologies in the list deserve to be in a better spot than liquid fire. Am I wrong?
Are you fucking serious? Now you're going to make another claim that I've said something I haven't? I don't give a flying fuck about your level of knowledge about your country's history. The fallacy you're making is to think that because you're Greek you automatically know more about ancient Greece than non-Greeks.
Yes, I did make the statement that most of the other technologies in the list are more significant than Greek fire. That's because they are.
Greek fire was used by the Arabs, Mongols and Chinese as well. It is only because of the secret nature of the Byzantine recipe that "Greek Fire" has been popularised.
With the advent of gunpowder and the modern petrochemical industry, its also useless.
There are several other lost technologies on this list alone that warrant greater attention and rank than Greek fire, even if you left it on this list."
And also I know better the history of greece ancient and modern than most bocause I have read it. Been Greek is the thing that makes want to know my nations history as best as I can. Maybe not perfect but good enought to being sure for some thing before I start a civilized convarsation. Without needing to say fuck all the time to intimidate my interlocutor.
But obviously not smart enough to actually come to terms with what people are saying before making an assumption and then trying to force an argument onto people. Greek fire is the Western European nomenclature given to the Byzantines' heralded incendiary weapon. It was also extended to include any incendiary weapon used in a similar fashion, such as those used by the Chinese, Arabs, etc.
You want to argue semantics omitting that the Greeks also call it Sea Fire and other names.
So, yeah, maybe you really should do some research before you start typing ill-informed responses formulated on ignorant and misguided comprehensions of what people are saying.
As for the technologies that are superior, I'll take Tesla's death ray, the Apollo program, Roman concrete, Damascus steel, the Antikythera mechanism, and Stradivari violins. Each of these technologies can contribute more to their respective fields of use than Greek fire - and they have.
@plasterdbastard you're unbelievable. Im not going to repeat the all the things I said over again because you cant read. If you cant read and understand the words of the very video you saw is fine by me. But try to stay your hand from the keyboard the next time you write a comment. See the video one more time and get sure that what you write is accurate. Have a nice day.
@elessarKP Your English must be atrocious, because you don't seem to understand anything I've written.
You've manufactured an argument and then failed to even make any points. Seriously, you've said nothing except that Greek fire is called water fire by the Greeks.
Ironically, you should take some of your own advice and try to understand what people are writing before trying to start an argument that's completely pointless. You've wasted your time and mine.
@plasterdbastard Seriously? All I read is you telling me that I dont understand what are you talking about and that engineers understand technology and history better that anyone else. Not a honest respond what so ever...
Now I know....
Just to know this is my final coment in this conversation (because as such I thought of it). Goodbuy and next time try to read what other people are saying to you.
Are you a dense little Greek man, jefe? Because you've imagined things that never happened and that I've never said. I said that as an engineer, I understand technology better than you, not history. Also, you've not established any points except that the pyramids are not a technology, which, again, I never said they were, and even the video asserts that it's referring to the technology to build the pyramids and not the structures themselves.
@GreenGravity1 No, civilisation is spelt right it's just the British way of spelling it. Like favorite and favourite and color and colour, neither are wrong, they both mean the same.
@GreenGravity1 They spelt it the correct english way. As an american, you should respect this as the correct way and using a 'z' as a bastardisation of the language.

Vimanas are circular and disk-shaped, much like the UFOs that are supposedly spotted today. The Hindu fable, the Mahabharata, details them extensively and even gives measurements.
@IBangedPrincessPeach But the thing is that a single block weighs 2.5 tons. The amount of manpower the needed was probably insane. But the mystery of the pyramids of how perfectly symmetrical the pyramids are. Some say it's physically IMPOSSIBLE for those pyramids to be symmetrical like that.
@IBangedPrincessPeach i disagree my friend , im an structural engineer student , one time we were discussing in class about the pyramids is still a mystery how they made them for example to place a rock in the top of the pyramid with todays technology would need about six big ass crane to place it up there see ya
@kadry93 the pyramids are black made they know how they where built they just dont want to tell us seeing as millions of years of history has been wiped out
@kadry93 Stating what you are studying doesn't give any weight to an argument, you are just enforcing the argument from authority logical fallacy that we should trust you because you are studying structural engineering and you have some arbitrary power over everyone else. No, there is plenty speculations on how the pyramids were built, google it and you'll find plenty of peer reviewed articles showing how to move 10 ton rocks using ropes and stones. This or aliens helped us. Think logically.

The Antikythera mechanism is quite well understood actually, we've got working replicas.
The mechanism is an ancient mechanical 'calculator'.
It's purpose was as a calender and as a very compact orrery (a mechanism for showing the positions of the sun and planets)
It's a very advanced piece of machinary that was not surpassed until about the 1500's.
Very advanced and very interesting, but not lost.

Roman Concrete is easy to make.
1) Crushed lime (the stone... not the fruit...)
2) Burn lime in a Kiln for several days at very high temp (around 1000C)
3) Take burnt lime (now Caustic lime) and crush into powder.
4) Add water, sand and gravel to the mixture in a ratio of: 3:2:1 of sand, gravel, lime
5) ???
6) PROFIT!
(in all seriousness the first 4 points will create a Roman Concrete.)

@mikezzknight those are zeppelins armed with circular manually armed turrets. Those weren't lost, they were just too expensive to maintain

I thought roman concrete was built with volcanic ash or something similar
zomg495 1 month ago 43
@zomg495 There are actually around 60 different types of roman concrete, But we don't have the "recipe for any one of them.
We can actually know the materials in a specific type of concrete, but we (archaeologists) have no clue how any of them was made. :)

pyramids are just practically stacked stones, in its time it was a relatively easy way of making a huge building.
IBangedPrincessPeach 2 months ago
@IBangedPrincessPeach But the thing is that a single block weighs 2.5 tons. The amount of manpower the needed was probably insane. But the mystery of the pyramids of how perfectly symmetrical the pyramids are. Some say it's physically IMPOSSIBLE for those pyramids to be symmetrical like that.
So it isn't exactly just stacked stones.

@IBangedPrincessPeach i disagree my friend , im an structural engineer student , one time we were discussing in class about the pyramids is still a mystery how they made them for example to place a rock in the top of the pyramid with todays technology would need about six big ass crane to place it up there see ya
kadry93 1 month ago 48
@kadry93 i didnt think of that, you must be right ;)

@kadry93 My history teacher said to me that they made scaffolds slanted to the top to deliver rocks easier.
