The same process as a Dutch pot is used to treat a wok to make it non stick. It a procese to get the wok heated at a high temp and rub on oil a you go along. You you can chk online how to treat a dutch pot n try using the same process.I hope this help you if you have a traditional wok....lol

  • Very great video. I just had this for dinner today. Very great.

  • FYI The reason to use day old rice, is that the starches have completely set. Often I'll cook some extra rice the day before (for dinner or something) and plan for fried rice the next day :D. Also, for my fried rice I like some freshly minced ginger and some sesame oil as well.

  • holly shit that's a whole supermarket

  • What wok and frying utensil are you using? Eggs stick on my wok and my frying utensil damage my wok when I fry things. Please advise us what you use.

  • @SimonCU : This is "Tools of the Trade" brand wok that we bought from Macys quite a few years ago.

  • For better look, i think you should chop the carrot and green peper into cube pieces.

For better taste, i think you should use drier boiled rice, that rice looks a little too wet and sticky.

Optional, maybe some corn kernel and chopped onion are not a bad idea.

just saying, no offense to your recipe.

  • sweet. But why peeps cook with garlic gosh.

  • cant believe you are not wearing aprons to protect those gorgeous silk jackets

  • @ahamatmabrahman not everybody is a poor as u

  • @neneyounge What do you know about my financial status?

  • @neneyounge you should have said "not all people are rich as you"

  • Very good combination. Can't wait to try this.

  • can we add chilli garlic sauce??it has a sweet taste.

  • @saurabhgrover2715 : Yes, you can - to taste! Enjoy :)

  • can we add chilli garlic sauce??it has a sweet taste.

  • No salt is added while cooking?? and not even ajonimato?? I am little confused

  • @sheshavardhani : We have used Soy Sauce and that has plenty of sodium! As for Ajinomoto (MSG) is known to be not good for health and we don't like it. We don't use it in our foods - but it is personal choice. Please feel free to use it if you prefer.

  • awesome recipe

  • hey i made this today..!!

  • Ok until you want to speak your mind then they control you.

  • that looks really good ill make it for my dads birthday

  • In my country we also (always) use left over rice from last night. It's one of our ways of not wasting food, just as long as it's not yet spoiled :) Fried rice is common in our breakfast table. Pair it with fresh cut-up tomatoes and dried fish with vinegar and it's a great way to start the day! YUM!!! :)

  • what brand of vegetable broth do you use ladies? and where can I purchase it?

  • Incorrect way to make Fried Rice

  • i made this yesturday, very easy and delicious :) thanks

  • after you boil rice do you fry it as soon as its cooled down to room temp or do you leave it untill the next day if you leave it till next day where do you store it untill then in the fridge or in a tuperware box ?

  • @willyham72 : On different occasions we have used both - left overs and made fresh :)

Store in the fridge in a air-tight container.

  • @willyham72 come see my version of fried rice.

  • there is always a aroma or scent which never comes in home cooking what is that am i missing something ???

  • This looks great I have got to try this thanks for posting.

  • am eating my fried rice while watching this video...great job.

  • i love thses grils so easy to learn from ..

  • I'm of latino origin and i have always been fascinated by Asian cuisine, particularly fried rice. I never imagined it would be so simple to make. I did this and it came out greeeat! I boiled the rice in chicken stock, olive oil, and weee bit of salt. For the vegetables, I used teriyaki sauce, tabasco sauce, and Maggi seasoning sauce. I also added broccoli, peas, and corn. I came out really juicy and spicy! Thank you so much for the video, it helped me a lot on how to initiate everything.

  • Hello i just watched your video and I would have to say that is a very poor version on how to make fried rice. I am 100% Vietnamese and i have been cooking since i was about 7. You mention in the video that other restaurants use day old rice. You don't actually have to use day old rice all you have to do is when you make rice in a RICE COOKER 1cup rice/1cup water ratio you just minus half a cup of water. I use 3 cup rice and 2.5 cups of water. The heat of the oils cook it the rest of the way.

  • While still keeping the firmness of the rice. The " garnish " of your spring onions is a joke. You should have put them in when you put in the garlic earlier on in the video. Also a slight bit of ginger really helps brings out the flavor. At the end of your video you show the finished dish. In my eyes i see the freshes TV dinner fried rice one can have. Off subject the garments you are wearing is insulting to oriental culture. Those are wedding garments. Its not going to make your food anybetter

  • @TokyoDreamer99 not everyone has a rice cooker =)... indians use pressure cookers for lots of other stuff so it becomes an easy alternative ... rice cookers are pretty expensive for something we can use only once in a while to make asian cuisine.

  • Yummy. Dinner tonight!!

  • These videos make me hungry. Great recipe. :)

  • With all that's going on in the world I say it's wonderful to watch how two Indian women cook Chinese cuisine. I want to some day try this dish out.

  • I'm going to try this recipe. I don't really care for rice, so if I eat it it has to be flavorful. Great job ladies.

  • Dear Hetal, pls change your hair style. it does not suit you.its a friendly suggestion. hope you will consider it.

  • Comment removed

  • Great job, girls! I see that you did not add any salt to the dish - does vinegar take care of that? And don't let your detractors bog you down. It is one of the hazards of exposing your videos to public commenting. If you really want to, you can rename the video to Vegetarian Fried Rice. A vegetarian diet could include dairy products like milk and eggs. Most Indians are vegetarian, not vegan because we consume milk. And of course we have the word "eggetarian', a purely indian term.

  • @preran01

The soy sauce takes care of the salt in this recipe.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry i think i have to make 500 id sto report this video and i will do it very soon ....

  • @preran01 egg dairy product ...lol u are half witted...i dont know why your head is empty when there is lot of true knowledge in India...u people cannot change any thing egg is veg then u are test tube baby....now consider the meaning what i said...lol

  • agar vegi banana tha .naam bhi veg diya he to muh se bol dete k egg optional he..mila k dikhane ki kya zaroorat thi..ab jo ye dish bana he wo khud hi non veg bana he ..yaha to baat aise bani he k ye veg option ho gaya he ..na ki non veg....kyu k at the end of the video the prepared dish is non veg....m i rite..english teacher miss kriti...i think u should learn to balance ur mind..ur dont know to compare the thing properly...

  • *sigh* it was optional...

doesn't matter what the name is, but whatever, if you disagree, that's fine

  • @pinker90 what ""doest not matter what the name is ""..ullu bana k tekhe he kya..doesnot matter matlab kya to tuje matter kyu hua thik se likhene ko pehlse se bol..bhot jyada angerj ki aulad ban gai he tum dono..fashion parade me jake k nacho samjhe..

  • i've seen people fry the egg first, then add the rice, followed by the vegetables.

  • you both have beautiful hair and skin...

  • I love your recipes ... And the what i love the most in your videos is the way you say "Adding a pinch to your life..."

    keep it up :-)

  • tnx..a pat from me too. I shall try the recipe today for my kids.

  • but why u named the video as vegi.....add one more as"veggi only if egg is not added'

  • @1003sapna

Feel free to leave out the egg (it is an optional ingredient). If you do so, it becomes "Vegetable Fried Rice" because it is made with vegetables as opposed to Shrimp Fried Rice or Chicken Fried Rice.

  • @1003sapna yeah i know people in the west think of egg as vegetarian

  • @1003sapna they said that the egg was OPTIONAL. Before you make a comment like that, listen to the instructions carefully. -_-

  • @pinker90 pinker before telling me to listen carefully why dont u think before commenting that the video name itself is wrong..ok...

  • @1003sapna They did not say this is a vegetarian dish. The title is "Vegetable Dish." There is a difference between the defintions of the two words. Also, they stated that the egg was optional. Apparently you don't understand the defintion of that word either.

  • @kriti04 are u **** i had commented to change the name..u apparrently not understand the comment on other side u have not read the video name,,ok..now dont send me mgs any more...i am telling to change the name of video ok..optional wali

  • @1003sapna Ok you psycho freak, first of all, LEARN ENGLISH!!!! You obviously have no life. And pinker she has NO right to get away bullying people just because she's too stupid to understand english. I'm sorry Hetal and Anuja, you ladies are wonderful and PLEASE don't change the title. Thanks

  • @kriti04 same to u..u are angrej ki aulad go and eat their shiit ...kriti..when somebody trying to say something rite and proper have the habit to understand it ...i think u dont have brain..and nothing to say..coz they themselves cant understand english what i can say...weel i am wat i am but u seem to the maker of psycho...go and have treatment quickly..lol

  • @kriti04

egg shakari nhi -nhi he sapna me opational bola he

  • @kriti04

sapna u are absolutely right,,,this dish is not veg dish...its absolutly non veg..coz they are preparing non veg and writtng the video name as vegg i think thi people only dont know english proper ly....kriti first teach ur englsih to themm..ok..lol

  • @kriti04 what they did not say the vegetarian dish see the title ab dono me tune farak paida kiya he kya...u mean vegeterian matlab half veg and vegatable means pure veg ..ghanchaakar gore ne chudaya he kya teri maa ko..jo kuch bhi angreji matlab nikla rahi he..bolu kya aur me

  • @kunalsinghania2001 you son of a bitch, mother fucker...you seem pretty damn desperate..why dont go stick your dick up ur mom's ass...im sure she'll enjoy it and die in peace...oh lol better yet ask sapna to stick an egg up her pussy. How fucking dare you speak to me that way asswipe..i'd spit at your slum door step..fuck you and fuck the hell off =)

  • this is not vegitables fried rice this is nonveg..cant any one see here they mixed egg also...

  • @1003sapna

As we mentioned in the video, the egg was a completely optional ingredient. Also, many people consider egg as vegetarian (it is not vegan).

  • @1003sapna Its "veg. fried rice" , not "vegetarian- fried rice."

  • @sumitsondi its clearly written vegetables..ok.and veg and vegetarian make no diff.according to Indians..rest of the part they called fish and egg also veg..and this comment given is by an Indian i hope u get remind this.

  • Nice recipe. Hetal you u reminds me of Monica Gellor of Friends series

  • @aniejosephn

Lol...funny you should say that. One of my friends just told me the same thing about a week ago. Will have to tell her :)

  • Very poor sound quality

  • huh, interesting. I've never used green bell peppers in fried rice before.

  • xzf ffyu

  • This reminds me of the Veg fried rice they have at every restaurant in Pakistan. They use Basmati rice and it's so good.

  • Make me hungry

  • very simple and elegant presenation, bottom line -one can really cook. no fundas unlike other rockstar chefs

  • amazing video !! ...so simple yet delicious. I made it just now and it tastes fantastic. Thanks a lot for you both !!

  • You are amazing with your yummy recipes. Congratulations both of you ladies for sharing your knowledge with us....greetings form Vancouver BC..........

  • thank you very much chefs this is the first ever time i have cook some thing nie dish..really pleased of myself lol..finally i have cook better dish than my mom lol thanks

  • wouldnt it have been a better decision to add garlic last (meaning b4 egga n rice?)

  • @MsLadyFreak Depends on your own personal tastes

  • gosh tht egg spoiled it all..noway noway..tht egg sucked..!

  • wow..all your recipe can u show me the procedure for making kadhi with pakorras in it??

  • @zairt

Yes, please look for "Punjabi Kadhi" on our youtube channel or for a detailed recipe and video, you can visit our website: ShowMeTheCurry (dot) com.

  • Non-stick (PTFE or Teflon) utensils cause cancer - EPA & FDA.

  • MMM Loooks goood

  • I had most of the ingredients with leftover rice but substituted spring onion with celery also added some cayenne pepper that spiced it up instead of the sauce.. A nice quick cheap meal. I always used to beat the egg in a cup before but this method saves time and washing up!! Nice one..

  • the rice too sticky dun u think so?

  • @hermagan no i dun thnk so...lol

  • the rice too sticky dun u think so?

  • thanks hetal anuja for the recipe ..i made it today, it came out delicious.can you show us how to make vegetarian dumplings and spring rolls,,,

  • @shalini13784

We have a video for Egg Rolls (vegetarian). You could substitute the egg roll wrapper for a spring roll wrapper. Please see our website: ShowMeTheCurry (dot) com or our youtube channel.

  • I just love these guys...their recepies are always great !!!

  • great idea!

  • thanx A'n'H for responding to my doubts... will u pls show the recipe of making non-veg pulao and fried rice???

  • We have a Fried Rice video on our website:

    ShowMeTheCurry(dot)com

or you can check it out on our YouTube Channel.

Non-Veg Pulao...we will work on but we have a Chicken Biryani on our website as well :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry i tried ur paneer butter masala.... it was so yummyyyy..... my hubby liked it a lot.....he appreciated me for that... thanx a lottt...

  • actually the indian fried rice and pulao difference....not indo-chinese fried rice... ok whats the difference betwn both?

  • Fried Rice has Soy Sauce and Vinegar and the rice is pre-cooked and added to the vegetables. For Pulao, the rice is cooked with the vegetables and does not have Soy Sauce or Vinegar (more Indian spices)

  • what is the actual difference between a pulao and a fried rice ???

  • And hetal, if Fried rice if made with left-over rice, it won't taste good, because left over rice accumulates much moisture and gives a kinda of rough feel.

    2. Rice is not seperate, rather its kinda "glued" and not loose. Fried rice tastes great when they are loose and not sticking with each other.

and Thanks for giving us some good recipe's. keep up the good work !!!

  • It really is important to use the right kind of rice for the right dish.

That is why we always use Long Grain Rice for this particular one, it tastes great when relheated and does not stick 9if made the right way.

    Cheers!

  • this sucks

  • Mmmmm yummy

  • Thats not really chinese food, if yuu got to a real chinese restaurant like in CHina, they wont have anything like from panda express.

  • @harmonythebraceface that's why the name indian chinese...lolz i think everyone makes some variation acc to their taste

  • true don't they mostly make steamed rice(which i think is good source of protein n healthy)

  • That's American Gaijin food!

  • Hi Hetal & Anuja.. I have tried some of your recipes and they always turn out great.. thank you..

I'm having a dinner party over the weekend.. having around 10-12 guests.. I am planning for a chinese themed party.. For how many people does this fried rice serve? And what if I want to make shrimp fried rice, how much of shrimp is required for this?

And can you suggest some (easy - I have a toddler, so can't be in the kitchen for long) side dishes(veg & NV) to go along with this.. TIA

  • This recipe will approx 4-5 ppl. Shrimp is something you can put a lot of or little so it'll be up to you. You can estimate by calculating how many shrimp per person you'd like to have and multiply by 4 or 5. Eggrolls go great as a side as well as a soup (sweet corn or hot & sour).

  • good job,..aapke kya kahne..

  • You two NEED a cooking/lifestyle television program.

The everyday tips (buttons, strawberry) combined with these vibrant recipes deserve to be given distribution on television network.

Indian-Chinese fusion looks, sounds and is delicious, and there should be some Indian-cuisine cooking shows out there too.

  • I agree. That or a book or something. I would buy it. Make a cookbook!

  • Also, im about to make this, I will comment back about how it turns out.

  • you guys really make fantastic videos! keep it up!

  • thanks for the lesson... i have tried it, and as the beginner (it is my first cooking!) it really do help. i made a mistake for buying lettuce which is supposed to be cabbage according to your recipe. even though i miss some of the stuff (paprica and green onion) but but the taste..is..good! indeed... :-)...again, thanks so much.

  • my sister is gonna make fried rice =D thanks

  • video dint added salt at all.??? how can dat be awesome????

  • Soy sauce is a substitute for salt in this recipe.

  • are u originaly frm malaysia or Singapore?

or u just specialse is Chinese /indian fusion etc?

  • We just love to experiment and cook!

    :)

  • It can be eated per se?

  • We also add some black pepper powder.. adds a wonderful aroma and taste.

Also, as a side, sliced onions with lemon juice on it. Yum!

    I'm gonna cook this tomorrow!

  • bt how v'll mak it more spicy ???

  • You can add more chili sauce or add some chopped green chilies.

  • I'll improvise next time I make fried rice! Thanks soo much.

  • nice stuff, made some today with the shrimp : )

can I hire you two ladies

  • How many grains of rice? I can't fit too much in my kettle...that's why I can't cook boilded eggs for my guests (I like to prepare them a dozen boiled eggs) Cos they havn't got good manners and can't eat cups of cake and slices of tea with knives and forks, they is so common!

  • I gotta comment.....this fried rice is awsome!! I used some microwaved frozen broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with this. Amazing!! freaking awsome!! :)

  • this recipe looks tasty and easy to make. I never cooked anything in my life and I want to start learning, so my question is do you fry things on strong fire or small? and how much time the cooking should take (when do I know that it's done?) thank you.
