  • That NS trains horn sounds like a crazy mofo on a jug penut

  • According to a google search:

"Gastonia, NC -- April 21, 2006 A tractor-trailer trying to cross over a set of railroad tracks near the 200 block of Firestone Street has been struck by a freight train and split in half. No injuries were reported. Further details have not yet been released pending official investigation."

Thank God no one was hurt! And that was a LOUD train horn, AND a loud crash when the truck got hit!

  • Gastonia, home of the faggots.

  • Norfolk Southern - 1

    KM Pulley - 0

Great video. In spite of all the Holy Cows, it shows how long it really takes for a train to stop.

  • Tak mądrzy mogą być tylko Amerykanie ...

  • Girl likes cows

  • that train stopped pretty quick and had a LOT of cargo, now i dont know it's weight, but it could possibly be around 20k tonnes and someone on another video that had top likes said back to the ppl saying "oh they can't stop for crap" and he said "u try stopping a 20k tonne train, they stop in a mile" this video proves that man wrong lol.

  • @david1991rules4life there is no way that train was 20k tons, 20k tons are some of the biggest trains we run, the do take over a mile to stop and need more than two locomotives to run them, this one was probably a small switching move judging by the size of the engines, it still took him almost 600 feet to stop if not more

  • had i seen this person, i'd be saying holy shit, ho-ly SHIT!! not holy cow, gee willikers, batman!

  • @Alphabex8 lol, read the description, you may understand why. :P

  • @Alphabex8 yep. kids or no kids, holy shit would've slip outta my mouth (dangerous goose muffins)

  • train went through the tralier like it was tin foil. have no fucking idea why anyone thinks they can out run a fucking train.

  • Holy Cow? Really??

  • Thank you for holding the camera still.

  • There you go, now the barriers go down.

  • The heavy Freight Train have very good brakes!!! In a fast time the Train did stop!!!

  • I'm guessing that the truck wasn't "stuck in a pothole." I'm guessing that it had come to a stop on the tracks behind stopped traffic, and was gambling that traffic would start moving again before the train got there.

  • The crossings arms are on the truck trailer.

  • Was the train ok?

  • @WhiteGangster400 of course it was the truck wasn't ok

  • I gotta ask, what was in the truck?

  • just like the first time I had sex. Ripped her in half.

  • Road vehicles and trains dont mix, what ever happens the train always wins

  • That gotta cost.

  • NO.... MORE LIKE HOLY SHIT

  • @JakeDaSnakeFilms sowwy.. didn't read the disc =3

  • holy cow!!! lol

  • Bye bye train wins!

  • rofl at big boom

  • 33 people were in that trailer.

  • Holy Cow !!!!!!!!!

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • howwwwwwwwwleee cowwwwww! LOL

  • i'm just gonna start chilling by train track crossings with a lawn chair now

  • Owned.

  • "Holy cow!"

  • no annoying t.v. commentary =good raw train-crash video...

  • WTF!

  • well at least the truck is off the tracks

  • When you forget the keys to the trailer just use a train to open it :-)

  • Ha brilliant video!

  • ooooooooh............... The American train haves very very good train brakes, better than European freight Trains!!!

  • nazi southern longhood forward.

  • @FailedSquare its called norfolk southern moron

  • @UP9390 are you serious? i had no idea. it definitely doesnt say that on the side of the loco or anything.

  • For sale: One KM Pulley trailer. Was 53', now 25' ,needs some work, tractor not included. Serious inquiries only. $500.00 OBO.

  • Gastonia is notorious for fast trains

  • holy god that thing got FUCKED up

  • At least the engine was running long-hood forward. Imagine if the engineer was in the front of the train.

  • Holy cow? xD

  • hey i saw that on the news years ago i lived in charlotte at the time i was like hmmm .... well thats gonna piss ppl off who ordered a truck load of stuff and that was the truck lol wasnt that shocking that happens every 90 minutes cause dumb asses race trains to save a couple minutes

  • Wow imagen you got something like that on tape :O

  • HOLY COW

  • Вот это ГУДОК !!!

  • haha thats funny cause i was the engineer of that train

  • WHERES HANCOCK WHEN YOU NEED HIM!!!

  • I live in Belmont, near Gastonia...the driver was not in the truck. I agree..these people are every callous...they look almost happy about it. I have encountered the strangest people since I moved down here..

  • Ohh yeah at 00:06 he looks real happy

  • My friend was working at a church in Gastonia. You're right, those people are special. Bless their hearts.

  • @molliebean welcome to north carolina! home of the strange lol i go to stowe park in belmont every sunday to watch trains.

  • OWNED!!!

  • And the person who is watching the kids walks up to the accident scene with the kids and puts everyone in danger because that could have became a hazardous materials scene depending on what the trailer contents were.

  • @firefighter17in04 No dangerous goods placards on that trailer

  • been there, done that

  • this truck driver gets hit by a freakin train and all these kids have to say is wow. somethings wrong here.

  • well they have mullets so.. can't expect much

  • and that is why you should maintain your roads...

  • Who is "you"?

What is wrong with the "roads" in this video?

  • Oh no that is not good. I hope the driver came out before the impact.

  • damn I wonder if he kept his job.

Matter of fact I wonder if he got out the truck

  • 'Holly Cow' xDDDDD

    And .. WOW ! 0_0

  • That shit happen in front of my friends house.I drive big truck and i never tried to cross that crossing. They shut down two years ago when a car got hit on same track.

  • WHERES that at?

  • fuck

  • Y is it allways nolfolk southern who hits trucks and cars?

  • Huh?

First....where did you learn to spell?

Second...."nolfolk southern who hits trucks and cars". Where did you come up with that?

  • First ..... i dont care how i spell the name this is you tube dumbass

Second......look over on the other vids there is a vid called train vs truck 2 and oh look at that its a nolfolk southern hitting a truck.

  • 'this is you tube dumbass". So...your capability of spelling correctly or putting together an intelligent comment ends when you come to "you tube"?

So...you found another video with an NS locomotive hitting a car and quickly deduced it is "allways nolfok southern" who hits cars.

Wow Semi...you certainly leap to conclusions. Keep looking. You'll see UP, BNSF, CN, IC, and CSXT videos of train/truck collisions.

The fact is...truck drivers pull in front of railroads all over the world.

  • haha wherever the fuck ur from u probably suck balls and cant drive for shit

  • stupid americans....ok. where the fuck are you from genius?

  • i was hopin u be in it who said we americans are stupid yes lady the jerk drivin truck was there n No a cow is not holly

  • I was thinking of British freight trains, I know you have bigger ones in the states. And yeah as I said, regardless, it would shoot straight through it. *But* if we're talking about a head-on impact, I still reckon the plane would sink over the train engine and halt it before it completely fell apart. Sure would love to see it tried :)

  • nice camera girl

  • I would surmise that this perticular train was half full or halk empty it that is why it stoped quicklym and maybee it had recently fiited new brake discs or watever they would call them, does anybody know? ty

  • look how quick the train stopped; people are idiots when it comes to train stopping distance. more weight = more friction; every wheel has a brake. i have seen a train take off faster than people think they can stop.

  • I'm not sure I follow.

Are people idiots because they think it takes too long to stop....or too short?

More weight = more friction. Well true. But it also equals far more momentum.

A 130 ton freightcar takes far more distance to stop than the same care empty.

  • the train stopped quickly because it was a short local freight and since the truck was stuck the engineer was able to throw the brakes on ahead of time

  • wow that train stopped fast......

  • Was anyone hurt or killed in the accident?

  • holy cow! lol

  • lol my hoemtown

  • person in green shirt = girl or boy? boobs=? boy clothes & hair=? girl voice =?

  • beats me but its fucked up here in US cuz some girls have short hair and some dudes have long hair. sometimes you cant even tell if its a guy or a girl. the only way to find out is pull down the pants and take a look at whats between the legs. i bet thats a bitch though

  • Really dude? Are you that ignorant? We thought you were stupid before you said anything. Then you went and opened your mouth and removed all doubt. You are stupid.

  • ive watched 10k videos on youtube... cant believe this is the first time ive seen this 1

  • those freight cars def. needed some sic graff artwork on em...

  • Badass!

  • the train has a bad horn

  • NORFOLK SOURTHEN KILLER

  • the kides were screwing around and thought it would be funny to put the traler there and run it over you guys prbolay got in truble

  • holly COW! XD

  • Un-educated day care people

  • That... was... so... COOL!

    I love trains.

  • that the reason some US lines run locos backwards in the Eastern US

  • Many engines of that style are designed to run backward with the controls set up so that the long hood faces forward. I'm not saying your wrong I'm just saying that that might be the reason they run them that way.

  • Huh? backwards? You mean long hood forward?

  • wow, the train was carrying hydrous ammonia... (white and yellow tanker cars)

  • you mean anhydrous ammonia?

Anyhdrous is not always carried in white and yellow tankcars. And just because a car is white and yellow does not mean in is carrying anhydrous ammonia.

My gut feeling however is that even if you are right and those cars were equipped to carry anhydrous they were probably empty given their proximity to the locomotive

  • i'm sure the kids learned a lot that day

  • lol

  • @3697sabo "Ok kids, this is why you don't stop on railroad tracks.

  • @3697sabo Yeah...they learned that trains can be fun.

  • That horn was so badass.

  • thats such a macho sound!!!

  • does ur sister work with kids who have mental disabilities, anyway, wtf, i wish i was there

  • WHERES HANCOCK!! WHA TA FUCK!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Comment removed

  • Quote from video info:

"The truck was stuck in a pothole and couldn't get out"

  • if she keeps sayin Holy cow i find one with a bull and sit on her head....geez people think train goin stop

  • Poor hi-hood.... but that kid is funny as hell

  • pause on 0:02. The look on the kids face is great!

  • she sound so GAYY!

  • that train stopped pretty fast after it hit the truck

  • I noticed that as well, that train sliced through that semi.

  • look like the gates was still bent just a little

  • HOLY COW!!! lol who says that?

  • she was close to kids, i bet if she could she would say shit.

  • the train are abote 1000ton ore more

  • 6 12 even 18 thousand tons.

  • what was 6, 12 or 18 thousand tons? That train? Don't think so. LOL.

    Fully loaded unit train....ok.

  • so the filmer brought kids to watch a semi get hit? very nice

  • lol now that's educational.

  • sweet fuckin vid

  • what a moreon where did he get his license? from a bubble gum machine ? idiot

  • He got it from a Cereal box

  • Fuck truck trivers think their 10ton truck can vin over a 400ton train.

  • You, yourself, can re-simulate this video by stomping on an empty soda can.

  • Haha

  • how did the gates stay up from the impact

  • owned

  • For the most part though, after years of investigation it has been determined chopped nose forward is ultimately a much safer unit because of the dramatically increased visibility. In particular now that most roads run with 2 man crews and one member is often on the ground.

NS is the lone holdout. Many shortlines, when buying older NS units, actually go to the trouble of chopping the nose.

  • It's kinda odd though. Remember when Southern bought the old NS and added the high nose to the units. I'd rather run with the chopped nose, but I like the high hoods. I guess it's because of the rarity of them now

  • I agree. All in all I would rather run with greater visibility. It's safer for my crew and for the public in general.

Given we are now in the days of two man crews, when my conductor is out on the ground I want to be able to see as much as possible.

  • SO COOL, WISH I WAS THERE

  • this video should be called truck gets owned by train.

  • MY BULGE JUST SHRANK

  • sickkkk horn

  • I think the reason why the engineer brakes after a collision rather than before a collision because it give the train momentum to push away a stall vehicle. This avoids a train from derailing and losing freight material and passengers rather than sparing a vehicle. Crazy?

  • Not really. Hundreds or thousands of tons gives you all the momentum you need.

We do not brake unless the emergency is right on us and we perceive it is going to happen. We couldn't operate if we put on the brakes everytime someone ran in front of us.

There's just nothing you can do when it does happen but handle the train as best you can given your tonnage, the terrain and what is going on around you. Sometimes an emergency application of brakes may not even be the right thing to do

  • I also think we dont dump the air until we are sure we are going to hit something because its hard to get the air back up and we risk derailing every time the air dumps. Lately here in MN its hard to get the air up at all!

  • No, Holy S**T!!

Those trailer sides are only 1-2 inches thick.

& 4 inches thick on the bottom & top.

There goes a $30,000+ (Reffer) trailer.

    I hope no1 was hurt.

  • Holy Cow.

  • trains don't hit the brakes until they've already hit something. according to my dad, who drives freight trains. he ran over a guy committing suicide while on my dad's first day. crazy.

  • I think it depends on the engineer. Some will go into emerg prior to hitting something and some will do it after. Engineer's descretion.

  • I guess it all depends on what you're about to hit.

  • A trained enginner will do what is best for his train and the public given the train length, speed, tonnage, terrain and what he is about to hit.

It is the engineer's discretion. But if he/she is a good engineer, they have to take all of the factors listed above into consideration and make the appropriate decision.

There are casses where it is better to not apply emergency braking as apposed to a more controlled stop.

  • You are right. I've never witnessed it myself, but with ribbon rail in hot weather I've heard it can bow up in front of you. Plus the delay of application of 5-9 sec. from applying till all air dumps. Brakes will also take effectiveness from front to rear which can cause an accordion effect and even more problems

  • If it appears the object can/will clear, don't dump air (brake).

Many use the phrase: "Don't dump 'till you bump".

In this case, seeing that there is no way the vehicle will clear, he is in full emergency.

Interesting to see how quickly the train came to a stop.

  • shit thats why being an engineer would suck, because you never know if someone will pop up out and you'll hit them!

  • Absolutely. While I consider my time running a fantastic part of my life, it can still be unnerving.

I'm not sure i quite agree with robertgift above in 'don't dump till you bump'. But in general I agree with what he is talking about. If you put the train into emergency everytime someone ran in front of you the train would never move.

It's a hard thing to get used to...running and not braking even though idiots are running around the gates in front of you.

  • Why do they call a truck a tractor? Isn't a tractor a tractor?

  • There large engine.

  • Whats a holy cow got to do with anything?

  • wow...why do so many people like you find it so hard to read the description?

  • hope he was empty,

  • i bet the truck driver is mad

  • This is why railroad crossings are dangerous. If a bridge was built there and in other crossings then crashes, injuries, and deaths would have been prevented.

  • Excellent observation! So...all it would take would be millions of dollars to raise the road so that an idiot doesn't park his truck on the tracks.

I'm sorry. I want my taxpayer dollars to go to better causes. i am not inclined to have my money spent protecting drivers who, if they just followed the law, would not be in the situation they are in.

This crossing had gates and signals. He/she should have paid attention.
