This is a great service that you guys are doing. This experiential wisdom is very valuable. I am a student at Penn State. We are doing work on hybrid, hydrogen, and electric vehicles. A fellow student just completed his thesis working on a Berkeley (British car) that has two AC31 motors along with a small Honda utility engine. It is basically a range extended electric vehicle.

Good stuff as always guys. I'm using a HPG AC31 in a Fiero myself so I'd like to see more on what you're doing with the new Speedster build. I think you might be a bit high on the HP estimates though. For one I don't think you'll ever be running around with 130 volts since that's just about cuttoff voltage and you need some room for regen. Even with 130 volts and 550 amps you aren't considering efficiency. 85% system efficiency = 60KW, 80HP. Voltage sag would take us lower, 70hp or less.
