@deltasworder1x There's christian iconography all over the place. Lions, the keys, certain gestures, and random bits of dialog fit pretty comfortably into a christian framework. Also all the good people are white males except the princess. And the only woman besides the princess, who falls right into the cult of true womanhood stereotype, is the witch. I'm not prepared to say it is racist but most of the bad guys have black skin too.

@zarathustrasmonky geez relax...the bad guys are aliens with blue skin. Voltron was a Japanese creation based on European Medieval mythology. Hence all the symbols you mentioned, including the cross. He even looks like a European knight in armour, so if thats the image they were going for it stands to reason the characters would look European in ancestry. If they were going for a Samurai image then the characters would obviously would of been Asian.

GoLion, the Japanese version of Voltron, was much more violent and bloddy. It was NOT a kids show. This is a toned down and edited version of GoLion.

They story is basically the same on both shows, but there tone is much less adult on Voltron.
