@DarthSinistris Do you know how big the setup file for Camtasia is? Do you not see that I was on DialUp back then? Do you not get the point of the video? Thanks for commenting.
Don't mock dialup, prior to April 2009 (Till I acquired a long range WiFi antenna) this was my only way to access the internet, including Counter Strike, & yes I still lived alot :)
I need to know... I have an old Windows 98 SE hard drive and I'm trying to get internet. Is dial-up the only way or can I somehow hook it up to my router?
@RedLink27 It's possible if the computer has an Ethernet adaptor installed. I would try googling "connecting windows 98 se to high speed internet" or something like this. Why are you still with such an old version of Windows though?
@Swizzy Actually, I do have a laptop with high-speed internet and is programed with Windows 7. I have the old hard drive for mostly fooling around, games and such. My laptop is for school and stuff. It's just I need internet because I need to install a driver that will let me use usb sticks. As an alternative though, I have acess to other computers that have floppy-disk drives, so maybe I could just use that. Thanks anyway!
@RedLink27 Win98SE can be connected to a standard network router just like win7 today. You should only check from TCP/IP settings that "obtain IP adress automatically" is cheched.
@RedLink27 Yes, you can use high-speed internet. You'll need a network adapter that supports ethernet. When I first switched to cable internet back in 2000, I used Windows 98SE. The cable company installed the card for me. I don't think they'd do that now, though.
@Swizzy LOL i have done this with a old-skool moto RAzer flip phone as the modem (#777 on us cellular then username is uscc.net password is your number) then you use your computer to share the internet to the ps3 (ether though lan or wireless ad-hoc style) so thats how its done
In the 90s that was super fast, for all you guys here don't forget that one day in the futur someone will say the same thing about our internet these days !
@bskwaj Ohhh I see. Haha don't worry you don't miss much except for being able to listen to any song you want on the fly lol. That's what I missed most. Thanks for your duty btw.
That's the closest to Gail Kim I ever want to be...

I still have Dial-Up. I've never gotten above 32.0Kbits/sec. That's about 4Kbytes/sec. I'm on 21.6Kbits right now. :P

it's slow because you have windows vista, not because of the modem
SuperPincopallino92 1 week ago
@SuperPincopallino92 No, it's slow because it's dialup. You fail for knowing the difference.

Part of the reason why it's so slow is also pretty likely that he has Vista.

@Swizzy You run a crossover cable from your PS3 to your PC, enable internet connection sharing on the PC, then connect to your dialup.
