  • That's the closest to Gail Kim I ever want to be...

  • Comment removed

  • I hate 56k modem because is so slow to load images, watch videos on youtube or even browse the internet

  • @MrZiulmota1 thank God you were here, Captain Obvious!

  • I still have Dial-Up. I've never gotten above 32.0Kbits/sec. That's about 4Kbytes/sec. I'm on 21.6Kbits right now. :P

  • Ah, those were the days...

  • Why did I willingly watch this in 2012?

  • My sister finally gave up her dial up last year. She lives in Anchorage and it's only caught on in the last few years up there.

  • Dude..Camtasia, look into it.

  • @DarthSinistris Do you know how big the setup file for Camtasia is? Do you not see that I was on DialUp back then? Do you not get the point of the video? Thanks for commenting.

  • @Swizzy Sorry, dude, I really honestly thought you were just showing the slowness of 56k...ah memories..

  • It WAS pretty decent, apart for images and videos.

  • it's slow because you have windows vista, not because of the modem

  • @SuperPincopallino92 No, it's slow because it's dialup. You fail for knowing the difference.

  • That's about the speed of my current Comcast subscription....

  • those where the days

  • Part of the reason why it's so slow is also pretty likely that he has Vista.

  • the slowskys will love that lol

  • @luvasia will=would

  • LOL dial up is how i role :D.

  • The good old days, start a porn download, make a sandwich, take a shower.....watch porn!

  • ok so your dial up is faster than my broadband

  • brings back memories... from five years ago :(

  • @EricssonXL You know nothing of networking...

  • windows 1998 xD! remember loading pictures of nude ladies!

  • Don't mock dialup, prior to April 2009 (Till I acquired a long range WiFi antenna) this was my only way to access the internet, including Counter Strike, & yes I still lived alot :)

  • I need to know... I have an old Windows 98 SE hard drive and I'm trying to get internet. Is dial-up the only way or can I somehow hook it up to my router?

  • @RedLink27 It's possible if the computer has an Ethernet adaptor installed. I would try googling "connecting windows 98 se to high speed internet" or something like this. Why are you still with such an old version of Windows though?

  • @Swizzy Actually, I do have a laptop with high-speed internet and is programed with Windows 7. I have the old hard drive for mostly fooling around, games and such. My laptop is for school and stuff. It's just I need internet because I need to install a driver that will let me use usb sticks. As an alternative though, I have acess to other computers that have floppy-disk drives, so maybe I could just use that. Thanks anyway!

  • @Swizzy I use my old 98 often and it runs really fast!

  • @RedLink27 Win98SE can be connected to a standard network router just like win7 today. You should only check from TCP/IP settings that "obtain IP adress automatically" is cheched.

  • @RedLink27 I have Ethernet adapter for one if you want it.

  • @RedLink27 Yes, you can use high-speed internet. You'll need a network adapter that supports ethernet. When I first switched to cable internet back in 2000, I used Windows 98SE. The cable company installed the card for me. I don't think they'd do that now, though.

  • god i remember playing Everquest with dial up, crashed whenever there were trains =P

  • My 3ds can go faster then this slow shit piece of crap

  • Most images take me 15 minutes to load with my dial up! I'm jealous :(

  • i am on dial up now ffs it's so slow pc and ps3 only get 1 to 2 bars on cod

  • @Dubstep720p how were you able to connect to PS3 with dial up? You just plug the phone cord into the LAN port? It dials automatically?

  • @Swizzy instructables dot comm /id/PS3-On-Dialup/

  • @Swizzy You run a crossover cable from your PS3 to your PC, enable internet connection sharing on the PC, then connect to your dialup.

  • @Swizzy Dial into network, Then create ad-hoc network or use the ICS through ethernet.

  • @Swizzy plug phone cable in pc. plug ethernet in ps3 and pc. bridge connections

  • @Swizzy LOL i have done this with a old-skool moto RAzer flip phone as the modem (#777 on us cellular then username is uscc.net password is your number) then you use your computer to share the internet to the ps3 (ether though lan or wireless ad-hoc style) so thats how its done

  • 56k modem to look up pictures of ladies.

It's like I'm in middle school all over again.

  • I only ditched dialup a year ago. I live out in the sticks so for us it's either dialup or satellite. I said fuck that shit and got mobile broadband.

  • In the 90s that was super fast, for all you guys here don't forget that one day in the futur someone will say the same thing about our internet these days !

  • My family use to use dial-up in Windows ME and in IE5, it was OK, then, BT 1.0 in IE6/8 but now we use BT broadband 2.0 and IE8,9 and Opera.

  • ever heard of hypercam?

  • @chris4315a Didn't want to bother finding a program using DIAL UP connection.

  • damn dial up is really bad, good old days huh lol

  • lulz gail kim? really? perv....

  • @latinoalex5 You don't think she's pretty??

  • i like your lamp or what ever is reflecting of your monitor! :)

  • @wahgan Haha thanks it's just the lights though!

  • We can watch a bit of youtube after hours at work. At home (the BQ) on 56K it isn't even worth trying. I'm on an army base in the pacific.

  • @bskwaj Ohhh I see. Haha don't worry you don't miss much except for being able to listen to any song you want on the fly lol. That's what I missed most. Thanks for your duty btw.

  • I'm in a location that only has 56K dial-up for personal internet access.

    It.... SUCKS!

And yours is faster than mine!

  • @bskwaj lol really? I feel for you! Did you load the video via 56K?

  • @bskwaj
