great movie! I like it. I think he is better than the Russian version of ... prettier than a Russian film. A lot of philosophy in the Russian version and it is difficult and a bit boring to watch. I'm surprised that I liked the foreign film. great movie, great actors. But I like the two Lares: English Keira and Russian Chulpan; Russian Lara unusual, this is precisely what the book. Keira's Lara is different from the book. and two Komarovsky, but the doctor is better in this film.

Terrible cast: this Knightley girl is destined to play anything between a maid and a prostitute, but really nothing beyond this sort of register. She embodies everything that is superficial and insubstantial in western 'culture'. Her whole acting is based on no more than showing off sex appeal. How can she ever touch a part as profound and meaningful as Lara? When are we going to see Justin Timberlake in Ivan of The Karamazov Brothers? Or Lady Gaga in a Tarkovsky remake at Hollywood?

I am not the type of guy who has much to say, but this movie is my all time favorite. Your pulled in, and can feel the struggles and passion's which are felt through out the movie. Sound track fits perfectly, moves me to tears at times each time I watch this beautiful story. Movie never received enough praise in my opinion, but none the less, will always be my hearts favorite movie.

This version of Dr Zhivago is so much superior to the David Lean version.. I like that this version dealt with the extremely dark themes of the book, which no producer dared touch back during the Cold War. The music is so incredibly moving. Brilliant.
