It's just alternating on two different toms. Every so often, switch from the low tom to the snare on your right hand.

better ones will definitely help and its all about just finding a sound thats right for you really.

every drummer seems to have their own preference.

@Mirozenx the trick in killing that ring sound is once you have done a good tune and lugs are all evenly tightened ( this will help if u have crap skins), is duct tape. make it into this shape _/\_ and stick it on the bottom skin close to the edge. for bigger floor toms i place another bit on the top near the edge keeping it out of the way. its an easy cheap way of killing most of the ringing. though good tuning is very important otherwise u could rap it in tape and still have it ringing haha

yes the drummer from the band may use this to assist his drumming, but it doesn't mean lukasbrooksby has too. He may just keep time in his head. I don't always keep time with my feet. Your defining it as an essential part of the song, when it really isn't. It's an optional aid. I can see where your coming from, but the video is titled a cover, it's lukasbrooksby own version. Just calm down, and try and be rational. Your view isn't the only view.

Tbh, im agreeing what u said on some parts. It is optional. Alot of people do uploaded what they call "covers", but alot of the time they normally just try to make it identicial to the track as possible. I dont think i need to calm down. Pretty good. impressive that you don't slow down or anything on the hihats at all, this is a tough song to play as you're moving both arms constantly throughout the whole song. also you're adding an extra beat on the tom part that isn't in the original.
