worst part is knowing that the only tool you've got to cut off your own finger is a very dull, rusty old saw. At least, in feudal Japan (and, to some extent, in the modern day Yakuza family gang), samurais who dishonored the Bushido code of conduct and/or displeased their feudal lord in some way were forced to cut off the longest of their (remaining) fingers with a clean, sharp blade. A single powerful stroke would cut the finger clean. Notice how in the video, the guy had to strike many times.

This game is strange, it was the first game where genuinely did not want to see the character do something messed up. You don't care about knifing a soldier in COD, you wouldn't think twice about running over pedestrian GTA VI and assassinating people in Skyrim is kind of cool....

But this game? I was really bummed out when I had to do this part, I spent as long as I could looking for another way and then felt a bit deflated. You succeed, but feel like you just lost... really big time.

Heavy Rain is the only exclusive PS3 game that made want to buy a PS3. I don't give a damn to Uncharted, God of War 3, etc., they're cool, but not cool enough to make me want a PS3. Just this: Heavy Rain. Even my beloved Tomb Raider, my favorite game series since 2000, is not as interesting as Heavy Rain. The best game I've ever seen in my life.

I hope it brings Lara to top again.

Though the character in game is doing horrible things for a specific reason, you're doing it to either progress the story and see what happens next, or you just wanted to see something fucked up happen.
