  • is touch and go harder than a normal "dead" deadlift?

  • please explain this 2 me like i was a 6 yr old child : ) what is the point of 5x5? u use the same weight 4 all sets and...? also, on some of your reps, u kinda exaggerate the "lean back" which relaxes the lower back and glutes, just sayin.

  • good form. You use chalk? That looks ridiculously easy lol. Keep up the good work.

  • strong!

  • great job man. I know taking a big belly of air is crucial for lower back stability but I'm having a little trouble with rhythm. Any tips on breathing?

  • I noticed you dont alternate grips..doesnt that force one side more than the other ? I tend to do that too but im not sure if it favors one side more than the other..

  • thanks to this video i started deadlifting i maxed out at 475 last wednesday, my squat increased to 405 at a weight of 183, thanks bro i used to be scared of these exercises but this shows proper form. keep it up man

  • great form!

  • beautiful form!!

  • watch?v=1nRRlk6264I

Good strength there, but I think you might want to look at this for proper setup to avoid putting too much stress on your back. I made the same subtle mistakes you were making all the way up to 405x5, but I have to say Smitty's technique does wonders. Also, watch that your shoulders don't lag behind your hips.

  • this isnt actually the correct 5x5 method. The 1st 2 sets are lighter weights for warm ups, and only the last 3 sets are the heavier sets. And when you can get 5 reps on all of the last 3 sets you need to add about 5 to 10 pounds next workout, and that is progressive resistance. I would say just add about 5 pounds for upper body movements, and 10 for lower body when you are ready to add more weight.

  • @gastrongman sounds like the beginners 5x5

  • @studiobuddy i dont think man, all the articles i could find on 5x5 never showed it going heavy beyond the last 3 sets. Strong lifts i believe is where i got most of the info when i wanted to learn about it and Reg Park.

  • how many reps and sets do you do for the warm-up before these sets?

  • @MetaIhead89 start with 135x10 and then 225x8 to warm up

  • @MetaIhead89 I'd say till your comfortable. When going that heavy you cant jump from 135 to 315 in 2 sets

  • Nice Job

  • I love doing 5x5 with no shoes for squats and deadlifts. Idk why but I just do!

  • whats the difference does it help ?

  • It just feels more natural to me.

  • @Natoyle93

You should always wear proper shoes for squats.

With deads, it puts your body closer to the ground and that's a good 1/2" to 1" deficit you don't have to worry about.

  • @Natoyle93 yea it helps so do flat shoes such as chuck taylors

  • okay video except creed they fuckin suck cock

  • That looks too light for you

  • good job dave man

  • Nice form. That's some hard work there.

  • NO SHOES!

  • i like the man in the back ground in the first set ahahahah

  • It amazes me how old people just 'go through the motions' and barely put in any effort in the gym. Just cuz your old doesn't mean you can't work a little hard.

  • Nice job there but for me i want to do bar bell row with 405lbs..

  • what's the name of the song?

  • one last breath by creed

  • thanks m8

  • 5x5 program is the best im glad to see others taking advantage of this program,my deads are going up like wildfire i keep adding 5lbs a week on them and it works well for me on my other lifts too ;)

  • how is it 315 lbs?

  • are you seriously that ignorant?

  • guess he doesn't know how much 6 wheels weighs

  • I can only see 6 x 20kg plates (oops sorry, wheels as you call them). When I was at school 6 x 20kg = 120kg, when you convert that to pounds it's 264lbs.

  • schools in the US are not metric yet we use 45lb plates not 20 kg plates that is where you are going wrong. So lets calculate 6x45=270+45 (bar) = 315 lbs...so simple

  • @ tracey I only see someone working hard

  • So apparently tracey's school didn't teach about rounding errors. 45 lb is 20.4 kilos. She is right in saying 20 Kg if she rounded down, but you are making a grave mistake by blowing up the rounding error by a magnitude of 6. I hope you didn't build any of my bridges or rocket ships.

  • when i hear THUNDERRR-AAAHH !!!

    ...fuckin creed

  • Creed = gay

  • but the lifting isn't!

  • only problem i see is the hair

  • LOL i agree, good form though :)

  • at 53 I am just glad I have hair! LOL

  • @roebuckk

well said dude. I hope to have my loc's atthat age!

  • @roebuckk 53??? conrgats my friend!! I am 39 and have been involved in athletics since I was 14. Haven't stopped working out ever since one way or another. keep it up, we'll live to be 100

  • @roebuckk you look like you're 30!!

  • @Srt4black Says the guy who drives a Dodge Neon. LMFAO

  • good form well done man keep it up!

  • nice form

  • nice job man
