"i'm 12 and i really think i was born in the wrong generation.
this generation's music is total crap. :/"
You were born in the right generation because you have the internet. Now it's easier to find all kinds of music from past to present, U.S. through the world.
@AisaLin3 I know i was shocked at first but then I ended up loving the ending, I was really shocked though, but I liked conrad's explanation of why he was so mean.
@AisaLin3 personally, i think they were engaged for all the wrong reasons. I know how much it hurts to be cheated on by someone you trust with your whole heart, and i don't know that i'd ever be able to be with him after what he did to me. i now it's just a book, but i can totally see belly's point of view.
@kaicolobread thank god for black singers. they gave us rock and roll. blues, rhythm and blues. they gave a whole generation of teens a music that will last forever. i bow to their courage and fortitude for standing up and singing this great music that forged a whole generation that i am proud to be part of.
I am 15 years old and I am so happy that my high school is doing Bye Bye Birdie for our Musical. It really go me interested in the 50s and 60s songs. :)
(yay?) Either way, if it weren't for "the white man" they would have been dreaming of this kind of stuff in the jungles of Africa. So, whether they like it or not, if it weren't for slavery, they'd still be facing genocide, mass war, starvation, ect...
@IATrollLPs Yes! They were in some areas enslaved by their own but in most instances it was no where near as cruel or inhuman. Caucasians saw them as property as we humans do cattle or pigs. The British were some of the first to pay Africans to kidnap other Africans and then ship them to the so called New World to work as human cattle for the white gentry. In defense of the British they were also the first to abolish slavery in their colonies in the early 1800s. Regardless! This is a great song
Here's a place in time that society forgot. When music was cool, groovy & innocent. Lyrics were clean and people were pure and unspoiled. Unlike today how media serves our kids a bunch of FILTH where lyrics of gang-sta rap & hip-hop are full of profanity, recording artists are horny sexual beings portrayed in videos & pop stars are admired for getting in trouble with the law - WHAT kind of CRAP is that ?? Just citing how societal erosion is deteriorating the very fabric that holds us 2-gether.
@pmathew27 ...Oh precious child, us old folks are way ahead of you in 'brillant' music. We are glad to share OUR music with you though. There is so much more great music from the late 50's and early 60's that is just waiting to be discovered by you and your generation. Take care and listen easy.
@buch737 why the condescending attitude!! I greatly appreciate good music, moreover ( this may sound cliche) I hate the music from my generation.. I dont like rap, hip hop u name it.. I dont even bother to try listening to anything made after year 2000.
And yes I would love to discover more music from the 50s 60s etc..
I had the unparalleled privilege of meeting these guys at the Matthews Alive festival in Matthews, NC in 1993. But, being just a 9-year-old kid at the time, I had no idea that the Zodiacs were living legends, who had recorded "Little Darlin'" two years before The Diamonds, and given us so many enduring R&B classics like "Stay" and "We're Lovers." If I'd known then what I know now, those poor guys wouldn't have had a MOMENT'S peace from me asking them questions and picking their brains!
Apparently 30 people listening to Techno and frying their brains with E accidentally hit "dislike" with their glowsticks. Are you serious?!?!?!?!?!?! This is music. Not buttons and mind altering/controlling beats.
@Mariachero05 I only came here cos i googled what was the shortest number one ever. Never heard of Maruice Williams before. Only knew the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons cover version
