Absolutely Awesome expression of the song through the dance! When I see Nick dance (and lead) like this it make me think that for sure he knows every damn swing jazz song ever written! Carla's following and individual expression of movement is nothing short of amazing. One of the best J&J I have ever seen!

whoever says this is their fave performance of Carla's has obviously never seen her dance with Kevin St. Laurent. She'll always be one of my favorite swingers, but when she danced with Kevin i looked right.

"kevin and carla" are great! they have a different style which is impressive in that highly refined and athletic way. but i love this performance because it totally projects carla's sense of joy and caprice. i suppose nick probably deserves equal credit, heh (i love you carla!).

This past weekend (Jan. 19-20 2008) I took a workshop instructed by Carla Heiney, Jay Le Roux, and Frankie "Yoda of Swing" Manning! I believe this experience can be characterized as...um...heaven on earth. All the teachers, especially Frankie, inspire me to no end, but I just have to say, (sigh) Carla is the best! She completely epitomizes the concept of work = play. Her dancing...swoon. Beautiful. I lough her!
