You guys are all wrong. On the album, Kurt's guitar is is tuned down between a C and C# tuning. It's either the sharpest temperament on a C tuning or the flatest temperament on a C# tuning. If you find the sweet spot between both notes, listen really hard and play it with the record.

sorry ok well D is played 1st finger 3rd string second fret, 2nd finger 1st string 2nd fret and 3rd finger 2nd string 3rd fret but for this dont use your 1st finger and strum as u would any chord hope this helped and sorry for the delay
