The 3.0 jailbreak takes like 5 minutes more or less, but the 3.1.2 takes like maybe 30 seconds to a couple minutes. All you do for 3.1.2 is pretty much click 1 button. It's that easy.

If you have the 2.2.1 Firmware, and bought your iPod around a year a go or so, then it's most likely a 2nd generation. I would recomend that you jailbreak 3.1.2, because it's the newest, and easiest to jailbreak. Check out my blackra1n 3.1.2 video.

The chances are you probably don't have it installed, but try searching it on your computer in the search bar in the start menu. Other than that try restoring and jailbreaking on another computer.
Relax, everything will be okay as long as you follow the tutorial carefully. But this jailbreak won't work on your type of iPod firmware, go into my channel and LOOK FOR THE 3.1.2 JAILBREAK. And luckily for you the 3.1.2 jailbreak is one of the simplest to use. The chances of actually breaking your iPod beyond repair are pretty slim. If anything happens just restore in itunes.

I'd say to restore and try again. Your going to have to restore with the 3.0 firmware in itunes. So hold shift and left click on restore button in itunes, then find the 3.0 firmware. Once it's done restoring try to re-jailbreak again.

Did you unplug it while using blackra1n, when it said to plug into itunes??? Your suppose to leave it in while it has that on the screen, because it's entering DFU to jailbreak. So restore and try again but LEAVE it for a few minutes while on the restore to itunes screen.
Yep... unforturnatly you do have to download the firmware, unless you downloaded the 3.0 firmware on the internet manually and not using itunes, If you downloaded it through the internet, then you can use that one.
It alows you to get custom themes. cracked apps (installous 2.5, check out my tutorial). You get the themes and mods off cydia, and use them in winterboard (check my winterboard tutorial.) And lots of other cool stuff!
Hmm... that's strange, i've never heard of that happen before. Is it possible that your iPod was out of batteries? is your iPod the 2nd generation, or the new 3rd generation? because it only works on the 2nd gen. Try to restore it with the 3.0 software: in itunes with your ipod plugged in hold shift and then left click on the restore button, a bunch of files will come up... find your 3.0 firmware. when it's done restoring try the jailbreak again, but be careful.
It erased all mine, songs videos apps everything. But when your ipod syncs it makes a backup, so when you restore at the end it asks if you want to rstore it to the last backup.

Only apps are free... but there is a way to t0rrent movies with an app through cydia, but I haven't done before.
But for apps you dont get them directly off the app store, you have to add a reposity in cydia for installous. If you want to know how to get installous check out my installous tutorial.

when you click SAVE, there should be the download box that opens. It should show all your previous downloads and your downlaod progress and whatnot. anyways, when you are finished downloading the file, right click on the file in the download box and select "Open Containing Folder". That will open up the folder you saved the file to, and you can then move it to your desktop from there.
No, jailbreaking will install something on your ipod called cydia. Cydia is for downloading things like themes, keyboards, and other modds for your ipod touch/iphone. Using cydia you can download something called installous, which enables you to download the cracked apps. If you want to get installous I have a tutorial on how to get it.

If you follow the guide carefully you should be fine. But if something goes wrong you can always restore it in itunes. Once you restore it, it should be good as new. And you can always jailbreak it again after that, as long as you dont update from 3.0.

Tethered means you can't 'slide for power off' without needing to plug in, and rejailbreak. Untethered means you can turn it on and off.

Your in luck! 3.1.2 is jailbreakable. Download blackra1n. And search for a tutorial, because I dont have one yet.
If you have an iPod 3g it's a tethered jailbreak, which means you cant turn off (slide for power off). Good luck!

Okay, restore it with the 3.0 firmware in itunes (shift and left click on restore, and select the firmware 3.0). (Mac is alt and left click).
Once its done restoring, try jailbreaking
again.

On your itouch go to settings, click on general, and about... it will say something like 3.0 or 2.2.1. if it's 3.0 it will say 3.0 something...

you need to have your ipod plugged in, and turned off (so the boot screen would appear if wanted to turn it on again) before your click next at 1:40
Then once you have pressed next at 1:46
then hold the power button in the top cornor for 3 seconds.
Then hold the home and power button together for 10 seconds, after 10 seconds
release the power button (still holding the home button). do that for 30 seconds, and your screen should go white.

If it was the only one that WORKED, it should be fine. but you probably did something to mess it up.

maybe your not doing exactly what the dfu instructions do, try to do it exactly as it says.
