@ujnawierzbie Yeah he has that stanly-ism,,on dukey stick, i thought it was stanley for a long time untill in 1993 found out it was byron miller,, then i thought byron was related to Marcus miller,, hahah but that wasn't the case!

Those fusion moments Mr. Duke loves to toss into songs, are so creative! The bridge at 0:44-1:00 is such a sweet progression and locks right into the next section.
The vibe reminds of a from something off a Zappa album, maybe 'Andy' from "One Size Fits All".
I've gotcha covered, the name of the song is "Just do what cha wanna" from the 1976 live album Billy Cobham and Goerge Live, this should get you where you wanna go. And LamontCJ thanx for the post, Duke burning the keys again.
when this was released I was a white male aged 18 in manchester UK I was listening to this while my peers were listening to manufactured pop shit haha great great days....
You, my friend, were an early victim of the "Dukey Stick" and never looked back. Good for you to be ahead of the curve and recognize the "real deal" from imitators.
I've been searching for a GD song and the only words I can remember are "do what cha wanna.." I know there is more but my best friend taped it on cassette off the record, the song is at the end of the tape and somehow got cut off about 1/4 of the way n2 it. It has a real smooth groove. It's a kinda just come on in kick ya shoes of and do whatcha wanna... HELP PLEASE! My friend, RIP JOE cant tell me! I keep asking & hoping 1 day someone will know this song. It's like a need in my soul ya know?
Hey LamontCJ, thanks so much for posting this. I had forgotten all about this request!! My absolute favourite George Duke song, I used to play it on my keyboards (sweating.....) with band and singing all the lyrics by myself: almost impossible, always out of breath. What a great song, havent heard it for so long. THANKS VERY MUCH!
Thanks for posting. The music of my youth. I went into the Military, when I came home on leave, my Sister had gone to College and took EVERYONE of my GD albums........it must have helped, she's a Psychologist now. :<)
It must be a George Duke kharma thing. Most of the people I've swung with over the years who listed Duke as one of their favs, are successful in many ways in their own right. From success as a mother and homemaker to high level insurance executive, Duke cuts across many lines. He's definitely all world!
That's Byron miller on bass
