  • For your service in fishing please e-mail me at socalfishingbuddies@live.com.. Thank you. Kevin kaiser ( price list and dates )

  • Is the fishery that good that you can keep what you catch and not decline average fish size? Serious question as i see a lot of California Delta videos and constantly see larger sized fish

  • where in sacramento this is at? please respond

  • Awesome Vid bro. Fished the same place you did today and got the same results. Keep rippn!

  • nice video!!

  • @fishingsurfing not at all, yeah you will catch some, but not lunkers :)

  • I downloaded this song instantly after watching this video. Nice bass bro, way to rep the beautiful delta!

  • what was the lady saying to you around 1:40? nice video too

  • whats da best bait for spawning bass?

  • @AznKiddSam123 - Swimbaits, frogs, and Senkos work great if you're blind casting. If I'm sight fishing a bass that's on a nest, my favorite lure is a white jig with a big white single tail grub as a trailer.

  • @russnyder nice ty for the tip

  • @russnyder any hints on where your fishing at ive been searching for good sloughs to take my son to bed fish in.........and those are pretty calm waters look like prime spot for this up coming snag proof open....would be greatly appreciated if you could help me out here thanx

  • @TheFuturebassmaster - Dead end sloughs don't have as much current, so they are always good places to find spawning bass. Rock Slough, Sandmound Slough, Seven Mile Slough, and Sycamore Slough are a few of my favorite places to fish in the spring.

  • do you ever eat any of the blk bass????/

  • @tcmax4life - I have a couple times, but I don't think black bass taste very good, but I love eating striped bass.

  • WHAT A BOSSS HAHA

    hey russ...

  • at the very beginning the rod looks 8 feet long, how long is that?

  • @FishinTheVille it's a 7'6" flippin stick

  • Comment removed

  • awesome catches,and great video.

  • Im up here in syracuse NY and the fishing is phenomenal, but nothing beats the delta. snod grass slough has some toads, let me tell you. thanks for sharing

  • I watch this video before I go out to fish. And listen to this song as my theme song on my way to to the lake. Gets me relaxed and in the zone. I think this was an excellent video!

  • Nvm you answered my question.. my mistake for speaking out before finishing the whole vid.

  • Hey Rus.. What plastic are you pitching at 2:30? And what time of year was that?

  • Nice thick fish, love to see you handle the fish with care, especially before the spawn. It looks like you need a camera man and someone to fill your backseat, us teens love stuff like that, lol

  • CAN SOMEONE TELL ME? why do all bass fisherman try to rip the head off the bass when they strike and what is the rush to get it in the boat?? it all looks a bit off a comp even as to who can land the fish the quickest or is there a reason for it ??i do catch murray cod and they hit like a train in real snaggy places but we dont do this SO FILL ME IN.THANKS .check out some of my vids 65 and counting..good stuff RUSS.real nice fishing . cheers REG

  • It depends on what technique I'm using. In this case I was using larger sized baits with thick gauge hooks, so I need heavy braided line and hard hook sets to make sure the hook penetrates the fishes mouth. I could have taken my time landing the fish, but because I fish a lot of tournaments, I guess it's just my instinct to get the fish in the boat as fast as I can when using heavy line. When using finesse techniques with light line I use light hooksets and take my time so the line wont break

  • thanks RUSS.for that .looks like you get stuck in comp mode haha..i chase a few comps here in australia too and won my first comp last yr. comps are firing up now so will be busy again..good stuff mate keep at em.cheers REG

  • @MrSimoncocks You kinda answered yourself when you said they hit like a train. With a technique like the one shown in the video, the bass is just sitting there with it. You feel the initial bite, but the bass usually goes nowhere. If we just start reeling, the fish'll just drop it. Now if we fish something like a crankbait, the rule of thumb is usually to just begin reeling faster without setting the hook very hard. Now, why do you think you see ALL of them do it?

  • @MrSimoncocks (ran outta space) ... Because it's the most productive way. If a whole crowd of people are doing something, more often than not, they're probably right.

  • @MrSimoncocks i dont know why either it seems that the harder they try to set the hook the more fish they lose

  • I like the hook-set @ 1:46-ish. That fish didn't budge an inch! LOVE it!

  • Oops. I meant 2:46

  • The song compliments the fishing perfectly.

  • cool vid. never get tired watching Rus' videos.

btw was the lady w/ trailer complaining about catching fish?

  • No, she said she thought her son caught the same fish a few days ago, and made it clear that he releases all the bass he catches. Which is good to hear.

  • boat crash wow!

  • Bravo e bel video good

  • I miss the delta. senkos catch striper in the delta too, can you believe it.

    Cali. rocks.

  • Nice catch!! I'm planning to go fishing in the next few weeks. However I don't have a boat. Could you give me some advices where I can drive to fish in the Delta, and the directions to get there? Thanks.

  • Im in the same boat as you hahaha, good metaphor there. I have a friend who has a boat but hasnt used it to go fishing yet, just wake boarding. So I'd rather just go when its convient for me and fish from the shore, ive tried everywhere... Let me know if you get some info charles.

  • can you give me some tips where and how to fish in the delta? im going there this summer

  • During the summer fish points that are located near major spawning areas, such as Franks Tract, Big Break, Mandeville and Widow Island. Frogs and other topwater baits should work well that time of year.

  • thanks a lot

  • I wish rainbow trout were able to survive where I fish, here in Texas. We have big fish but you have to work a lot harder for them. Common presentations around here are craw/creature imitations, shad and bluegill imitations, but nothing as big as a those rainbow trout imitations for Cali bass. Our big "bass lures" are probably frog and snake imitations, but you still tend to get smaller fish biting on those too. But bass fishing is bass fishing! Great vid, thanks! Keep posting!

  • im a fan

  • Some sweet spring-time Punker Lovin....

  • Those Lunker Punkers are awesome, I've been having a hard time throwing anything else! lol

  • RUS...YOU ARE AWESOME...5 STARS...

  • That second one you got was a nice one... I caught one earlier this year just like that, its color was rich and deep in green.

  • Dang bro nice vid!You get my message on myspace?
