I first saw this when I was little, and it was already a bit dated and corny, but still with lots of funny parts, and a fair amount of it is relevant today. But my favorite part is Speed Felon and Mighty Misdemeanor Motors! I'm glad to be able to see it again. Just the salesman's name makes me laugh!
The car salesman is Spencer Quinn. Funniest segment I ever saw. I remember salesmen like him (without the exaggeration) on TV in the SF Bay area, c. 1970 (when this was made)
Good question. Though, I will say that when I was taking driver's ed back in high school in the early 90s, my teacher actually showed this video to us.
Uh... thanks... I think? My teacher was hilarious, not to mention very open minded. Of course, this movie was created back in 1970, so he was either a teen or a man in his early 20s around that time. :)
I speak French, so I probably would have been inclined towards the French car. That said, I felt sorry for the poor car who was gasping to death.

Said he paid 35 dollars for that 1959 Ragtop Caddie. I'd pay 4500 if it was in similar condition today!

The used car TV ad was brilliant. Thanks for putting this out there - really takes me back!

As a kid I recorded this off the TV and had the used car ad memorized. I also loved the talking cars in the used car lot, which
Disney used for the trailer. You made sure you were in front of the TV Sundays at 6pm sharp once you saw the trailer for this Disney classic.

That was awesome, what was it originally used for? Just a tv special or did it have a different purpose?
