  • Where do you get your empty makeup palettes?!?

  • Where do u bye surgical spirt in the u.s

  • in your opinion, what is the best way to depot larger shadows and blushers without breaking them?

  • What does it mean when the glue buckles?

  • Hi, what is the purpose of depoting blushes and eyeshadow?

  • @luvableissa Did you see the big tray she was putting them into afterward? It's a lot more convenient to carry all of your colors all together like that rather than having to search for each individual thing among lots of little cases and trays :)

  • @luvableissa Its so you can get to your makeup easier. The original cases are large and take up a lot of room, its easier to just keep all your makeup in one larger case than ten ,still big, but smaller ones

  • What is Surgical Spirit? What is it made out of? Where do you get it? Thanks!

  • @twilightmaniac717

Surgical spirit is pretty much the equivalent of rubbing alcohol :)

  • can u please do a room tour?or what's in my purse or a makeup collection video?

  • What is surgical spirt?

  • THAT NAIL IS CREEPING ME OUT ON THE SAID UGHH I WANNA WATCH THE VIDEO BUT I GET DISTRACTED LOOKING AT IT. LOL

  • best video out there to depot, thank you

  • Hey Klaire, I really want to know how you stick the makeup pans in the palette. I'm planning to get the same exact palette as you, but i see that it's not the magnetic types. Thumbs up so she can see!

  • Q: why would you need to do this again? o-o

  • @oishiininja if you wanna put your eyeshadows in a bigger pallet. or take a single one out. or really for any reason

  • please do a tutorial on how u film yor vidsxx?

  • do you use that hair straightener often?

  • Comment removed

  • this def makes me want to depot my elf palette! i hate the packaging. i actually forgot i had it lol

  • can you do a tutorial on how to make your own gel liner please?

  • That was so fun to watch :)

  • i have the EXACT same elf palette! EXACT! i got it for free, since my friend works at a makeup store and gets all this free makeup crap.

  • where did you get that "pallet" from

  • Why would you want to do this?

  • depotting as we speak :)

  • Also, @traggle1, z palette's r cheap & come in many sizes and ship anywhere, check out their website or buy on eBay.

  • Love the rubbing alcohol version but baking in the oven is also super easy. Line a baking sheet with tinfoil, open eyeshadow u want to depot and set it on top of the tinfoil, place in a 215 degree F oven for like 5 min, and the pans just fall out of the cases, super easy and if the packaging sticks to the tinfoil it's fine because u can just throw it out. Great vid thx!

  • can you tell me where i can get an empty pallete from?

  • I'm pretty sure it'll also work if you use a hair blowdryer instead of a lighter, just put it on high, it melts the glue. Even though it's not as hot as a dryer, I think it'll do the trick.

  • damn always cutting herself! but thnks for the tutorial!!! had me wondering!!!

  • Does anyone know where you can buy a cheap pallete of a decent size that can be bought in England? x

  • And where do you finally put the eyeshadows in :D?!

  • Could you possibly do a makeup storage and collection video? I'd love to see one. x

  • Dear Klairedelys, I really, really want to make a request on this but I thought it was insignificantly pointless. Can you do a tutorial on what you do to keep your nails strong and healthy? In other words, a nail care tutorial? Please reply back:)

  • @darine39 I'll try and get something like that done on my blog :)

  • I don't have any idea about where to find surgical spirit! I never heard of it! Is it different from normal alcohol you buy at the chemist?

  • Where can you find the containers to depot the make up and do you glue them down so they dont slide?

  • OMG IAMSLEEPLESS MUSIC. I LOVE YOU MORE KLAIRE!

  • waiiit; why would someone want to depot their eyeshadow..?

  • @FlavorlessTea

Example: Since I am a makeup artist, I wouldnt want to carry around 60 tiny palettes, instead, I much rather depot them all into one huge palette. Its better for organizing as well :)

  • @beneathyourlove ohh ok haha.. that makes more sense now~ ^^

  • This is by far the best depotting video I've watched. Consise, well-filmed, great narration. Love your accent by the way.

  • i know its WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY 2 early, but cant u do some christmas videos (:

  • cool

  • do you need to use a needle

  • eyeshadows is spelled wrong

  • at 2:33 look in the mirror its klaire!!!!!!!!!! luv this vid

  • Ive watched this video atleast 5 times and I dont have to depot anything, you are just that amazing(:

  • I depot my make up to prevent clutter. If you just simply by a depoting container thing xD & depot all your eyeshadows out of kits & such..it saves you time if you have to go somewhere, have an appointment do someones make up, etc. but that is why I do it.

  • I really don't mean to sound snotty or anything but I don't understand why you would want to depot your makeup. Could someone tell me what's the point?

I would greatly appreciate it. =]

  • @gigglez5667 If you wanted one big palette instead of lots of little ones, with all the eyeshadows, blushers etc in one palette which is easier to carry around and you know that everything will be in there :)

  • Is this BananaPieLord music?

  • Hi Klare, I know its only August and is WAYYY early to be asking this, but can you do a Halloween series? :)

  • @BTRmirandalover24 I'll be recording videos for my Halloween series in the next few weeks :)

  • @KlairedelysArt Yayyy!!!! :D I always look foward to your videos. ;)

  • i did this and it kinda worked but does da litter one work

  • Why would someone want to depot their eyeshadows? :/

  • @xSweetnSourXx I'm wondering the same thing...maybe it's to declutter a makeup bag?

  • baaam i was ur thousandth like xD .. ahhh ke no conocia el método del surgical spirit .. me parece mas facil que quemar las sombras de abajo .. til now i havent depoted any eyeshadows .. cuz i was afraid of braking them and i dont like to burn them .. i always burn things -.- aunque sean mis manos .. o el plastico .. o lo que sea .. quemo TODO! hahaha =) gracias por el video .. voy a tratar lo del surgical spirit si lo puedo conseguir.

  • Where did u get the empty cases from?? BTW thanks for the vid it was great ! i had no clue u could "depot" your make up

  • Hey! Just so you know, the title of this video has a misspell....Ey*e*shadow, I guess that last "e" just didn't make it in haha :) Just letting you know!

  • For anyone asking what depotting means - it means to remove from original packaging to place in an empty palette.

For anyone asking about the surgicial spirit/alcohol - it will not harm the product or you, as it just evaporates into the air. It will not ruin the quality at all.

  • what does depot mean?

  • Thank you for this tutorial. I recently acquired a beautiful antique compact that now contains a depotted face powder and its puff. Cheers!

  • @xBinKyBo0x You're basically saying it's OK to give a lighter to a 13 year old without an adult nearby. I'm 15 and even though I have common sense, everyone makes mistakes. She's just worried about you.. =.=

  • @PolymerClayInHDx some 13 year olds smoke, i think it's safe to say they know how a lighter works

  • @xBinKyBo0x I'd rather be safe than sorry. It's amazing how many young kids watch my videos so I'd rather point out the basics than risk someones life and home.

  • @xBinKyBo0x yeah but some people are really stupid

  • @bcussen1 that stupid? what's become of humanity?

  • @xBinKyBo0x well she is doing a good thing by making sure we are safe. so shut up!!!!

  • @MrMrFunnybunny1 don't tell me to shut up, i have freedom of speech, entitling me to having an opinion

  • @xBinKyBo0x i can do what i want :) so SHUT UP.

  • @MrMrFunnybunny1 Oh boy you are so Funny

Funny bunny, eh? Are you 12 or something?

  • @xBinKyBo0x did you know that common sense is actually not very common? :)

  • @ashavari not until now

  • @xBinKyBo0x I didn't think it was patronizing at all, you are under age. If you burn the house down then your parents will think you are an idiot for one, and then they will look for what influenced you to use a lighter on your eyeshadow. She didn't say 'ask an adult for help' she said 'get permission'

  • @xBinKyBo0x

r u stupid if some i dont no 13 yr old girl did this and ether burnt herself or her house down u would b in deeeeeeep trouble not to mention u wouldnt hav a house !!!!!!!! god people these days think they no every thing but at leats klaire said it so she cant get the blame. . . . . . . . . . . . . . <3 u klaire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the alcohol wont affect the eyeshadow?

  • You may have already answered this somewhere but I just don't know, what kind of editing software do you use? I'm trying to find an easy cheap but great software for editing because I'm getting a good camcorder soon and I don't want to have to edit my videos on windows movie maker. Yuck.

  • I don't understand why you would want to do this

  • i do not know why but i love watching this video, it calms me lol.

  • hey, can you make a video about what to do with all the paddle brushes you get with a new palette or eyeshadow? I have a ton and think there could be a better use than throwing them away :)

  • Can you do another hand art video?!:)

  • @ishaycallie : she usd's it ti mend broken eyeshadows too, so I think it's okay. It's also what they use in surgical wards to sterilise their hands before operating. It'sa tad hard on your skin, but not in this amount :)

  • Wait, I dont' get why would you remove the eyeshadow at all? What is a depot?

  • @Ananomouse I think some people like to make pallets of greens, blues etc. I sometimes do it with single blush and eyeshadows and put them all in one pallet, so it have one box rather than lots of little pots ~ easier to carry. Depot means to take out the original holder ~ hope that helps sweets ;-)

  • I have the exact same hair straightener like yours. :D

  • But if the surgical alcohol or something gets into the shadows won't it damage the powder or sting/be harmful your eyes ? :/

  • i dont get the point of this

  • @PincessYue me neither LOL

  • thankkss =)

  • Is it weird that I could watch this over and over? It's so much simpler than I thought it would be.

  • thanks for sharing!!

  • It took me so long to figure out what the title of this video meant before actually watching it. I was thinking the word depot, like Office Depot or Home Depot, pronounced dee-po... I was confused haha

  • thanks for making this video!

  • Klaire! Can you put the eyeshadows back into their original palette after you de-pot them? Cus I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and dont want to take a HUGE palette :) before I depot them I just wanna make sure I can put them back in :D please right back!! Thanks!! Xxxxx

  • I'm sorry, this might seem like a silly question, but why would you take it out?

  • @AmytheQueenofDisney I was thinking the same thing !!

  • @AmytheQueenofDisney I was thinking exactly the same thing!

  • @AmytheQueenofDisney Well I would assume you do it to keep all of your favorite eyeshadows in one place. It's a great space saver, don't you think?

  • I decided to start depotting so I bought some Z palettes to keep products in at home and a Unii palette to take in my purse. Once I started depotting, I found out that some pans will stick to the Unii but not the Z, or the Z but not the Unii. The Unii palette also comes with a palette-sized magnet sheet that they say can be applied to the bottom of the palette or cut and applied to the makeup pans. I'm really confused about the easiest way to get all my products to stick to different palettes

  • that was helpful :) thx <3

  • now, i want to see your finished palette! :)

  • i have those straightners

  • I wished elf still made the first palette you showed :( its my favorite

  • Can you do a tutorial on depotting the 28 coastal scents neutral palette? I'd really like to put the shadows into a more compact case but am afraid of messing them up :(

  • Awesome :D

  • Hi, is the whole Celia palette magnetize? l

  • my question is maybe a little bit silly but... why depot blushes and eyeshadows?

  • Can you buy sleek pallets in store at superdrug or do you have to order them over the internet? :D

  • Why would you want to depot bigger products like blushes? Do you stick them into a bigger palette that can hold a couple blushes? Also, if you're repotting something, wouldn't it just fall out or do you have to use glue or something to stick them in place?

  • The sleek surgical spirit palette one is AMAZING! I have limited palettes I cant feature in my millymollymakeup beauty channel. So now I can show the colours without referring a palette and people wont feel the need to get THAT palette XD

    Thanks

  • I wish i'd seen this yesterday i bent and broke my sleek eyeshadows trying to depot them lol thanks for the video i'll know how to do it properly next time xx

  • 2:33 MIRROR HAHA :) ( it's you :o) ^^

  • 0:01

  • Youre amazing!

  • You know you took the base of the 28 piece paltte? Is under that magnetic then? Confuzzled...

  • Oh and what is your review on the elf palette you showed at the beginning of this video? Thanks again!!

    <3

  • @16sweetpea If you click where she got her palette from, you can get to it from there, just scroll down :)

  • Would these methods work for mineralized eye shadow pots and blushes?

    Great tutorial, btw :)

  • Also, itnstead of a straightener or lighter, you can use a blow dryer

  • Damn. Burned my house down.

  • That was great !!! ;)

  • :) I wanted to separate a set of eyeshadows but it scared me... Now I can! without destroying it! xD I just... can't express how glad I am!!!

    Thank you :)

  • Sometimes I watch your videos just to hear your voice LOL. Not in a creepy way, I just really like your accent and the way you speak ;D

  • theres a video from gossmakeupartist useing the oven... never tryed it

  • Politely butting in here: rubbing alcohol WILL affect and glaze matte and talc based eyeshadows and blushes, which you didn't clarify. Just don't want someone accidentally ruining their eyeshadow/blush by getting alcohol in it. The only products where it doesn't affect are generally mica based shadows or those that are wet/dry formulas.

  • i love your voice :3

  • Cool

  • I was listening to that song yesterday :D

  • When I turn eighteen years I will be anti flammable?

  • Like the surgical spirit idea cool :0) xxxJoolsxxx

  • Just curious, but like.. why take em out? :3 lol just curious!! x_x not hating or anything...

  • @117JasR Depending on where you buy the product (in this case I have a nice set from Claire's) it has the casing like; 0:08 & has two or even three unneccesary holders casings. But if you take all the pots & put them in a proper case that won't buckle, if you travel with your makeup, it takes up way less space.

Mainly though, allot of Guru's or Makeup Specialists will depot to save space & slap the name of that brand/name on the back of the pot for next use.

Not sure if that helps. XP <3

  • When I depottet my eyeshadows (I only have 3), I was using a blowdryer (basicly the lighter teknique, but with only heat and no fire) ^^

  • Does it have to be 100 percent if alcohol? Can it be 70 percent?

  • For all those asking if you can use rubbing alcohol read the description box.

  • Comment removed

  • can u also use rubbing alchol

  • are your palettes (the ones that the newly de-potted makeup is transfered to) magnetic?

  • I always use the knife method and always cut myself cause I'm so clumsy. I need to try the surgical spirits way, thanks for posting this :D <3

  • you said grease proof paper do you mean like wax paper for cooking?

  • @KingsofLeon2112 yea its wax paper

  • Is there somethig your not good at?love ur videos...

  • the pallet u have would it fit mac pan shadows? and would it need anything extra to make it stick on the palette?

  • I have the same straighteners ! X

  • I really wish that my Rubbing alcohol was labeled Surgical Spirits instead of, well, Rubbing Alcohol. To me, that sounds way cooler (rushes to design her own surgical spirit label to put on the bottles XD )

Thanks for putting a number of different ways to depot on one video, it's way more convenient than trying to search through a gripload of results. And a very big thanks for putting the links to the other vids as well! :D

  • Can these methods be used to depot powder compacts? For example E.L.F Clarifying Pressed Powder.

  • @chocolatecandies101 I want to say yes as they're in the similar designed pots, just a larger shape :)

  • @chocolatecandies101 Yes you can :) It's a little bit more tricky with the e.l.f ones but you can do it :)

  • thanks for all the different techniques :)

  • Hey Klaire. I looked at the Description box but I couldn't find it.. The blush at 1:57 - where is it from ???

  • @MajalovesNick looks like Sleek.

  • @MajalovesNick It's one of the Sleek Blushes :)

  • thanks so much i new only one way now i have to chose from !

  • hello

the palette you are using is not magnetic

could you please suggest me where can i get the magnetic empty palette please?

    thanks a lot

I a big fan of you... I just wrote on your FB page

    MISHA

  • Oh, and why would you want to depot a eyshadow or blush?

    (Stupid question i know :P)

  • @MrsDanceDoll If they're single eyshadows, blushes, or bronzers... it'd be easier to depot them and put them all into one palette... That way instead of searching through 10 blushes or whatnot, they can all be found in one palette... You can even make a palette with a few eyeshadows, bronzer, and blush to help make packing for travel easier.

  • @MrsDanceDoll I think it's because if you have a lot of shadows or blushes you can then have them all in one palette instead of 2 or 3 different ones. Space saver?

  • Can you use something non alcohol that isnt surgical spirit?

  • Fantastic! Now I just need to get my paws on some surgical spirit... :)

  • this makes things SO much easier for me in de-potting my nyx single shadows.

  • Where can I buy surgical spirit :S ?

  • @CosplayMondi Any drugstore, surgical spirit is the UK way of saying rubbing alcohol. :)

  • @CosplayMondi you can get it in BOOTS if you are in UK
