I got the pink ghd from sephora and the cord started shorting out after about a year. It's an awesome flat iron, but it just sucks that I paid so much money and mine didn't end up lasting very long...I always seem to be really hard on all of my electronics though lol

@kelseyhm yes the ghd temprature will ajust to the to the type of your hair so if your hair i really thick the temprature will go really high so get your hair straight ! and trust me this straightner even works on afro hair , so i dont see why it wont on yours !

I love my ghd i was worried at first because mine cost $235, plus $15 tax (i got the pink box set from sephora) and i seriously dont know how i ever lived without it....its the best flat iron you can buy hands down. it makes your hair feel like silk? i dont understand how but i dont care all i know is my hair+ghd=good hair day...wait isnt that what ghd stands for good hair day? ahaha idkkk :) it creates amazing curls too, i dont even have a curling iron anymore i use the ghd for all my styling

Here's a tip, if you have any hair stylist friends (licensed cosmetologist or barber), they can get really cheap GHD or any other tools for cheaper, so get them to buy you one. I got mines a hundred dollars off retail price. Or just spend the extra money at reputable places like sephora or your local salon. Don't buy from BeautyChoice!!!

Honestly, If anyone is going to purchase a greatly priced product like the Ghd, Chi, Sedu, and anything else don't but it anywhere besides Folica.com I ordered from both Beauty Choice and Folica and my experience with Folica was much better. Also, Folica guarantees authenticity.

So when your getting a 200 dollar product for free, obviously your going to think more of it than it is. It's sad because a lot of people trust their opinion. I have a Solia that I have had for a year... it works just ok. I wouldn't really reccommend it.. but it works ok on my thin naturally oily and greasy hair (its never clean looking) with random short curls and waves. I really want to try the ghd, but its just sooo expensive. And I once left my straightner on for 6 hours.. it burned lines into the wooden window sill it was on and the paint from it was stuck the the straigtner and took me hours to scrape off and my house smelled for days.

I have the folia straight iron and the dial will go up to 450 F. It is super hot, and works like a charm on my super curly hair...I would just make sure that it will keep the heat while you are using it, like Leesha mentioned! Good luck!

The ghd did works really well. It is very expensive but I really like it. It really depends on what your looking for. THe ghd has many features and creates some what of different look than the instyler

Keep in mind the instyler is noisier. I hear that you can try out the isntyler for a few days, if you'd like yoiu can do that. But I really recommend the ghd. It's really great.

you do have to use a heat proptector on it cos it gets so hot but it doesnt cause breakage cos of something to do with the plates? iv used GHD for 5/6 years now and i personally havent had any major breakage with it.

errmm depends on your hair typpe.

if u got quite fine hair i would reccomend a spray heat protector.

but if u have thicker course hair which u wanna tame at the same time id recommend any type of cream heat protector that u smooth through your wet hair before u blow dry :)
