I wish people like her understood the history of slavery and that almost all people were slaves at one time and the sub-Saharan africans(blacks) were slaves of north Africans like in modern day Libya, Egypt etc and that the slave sellers were themselves black. They also don't know or forget that the North Africans killed them or sent them back, not freed them, like we did. Blacks in America today are MUCH better off than if they were in Africa and NONE of them would be alive if not for slavery.

But that wasn't my point, my point was that US slavery of black africans wasn't a unique event in history. Slavery pre-dates writing and still goes on today with most of the victims being eastern european.

This abuse happened on larger plantations where power corrupts. In the smaller ones this was not the case. Larger ones were fewer so this did not happen on the scale you make out.
