Exactly what part of our culture was 'destroyed' by idealism? Our country was founded on idealism. Do you think that in the time the Constitution was drafted, that it was not perceived as idealistic? At one time, life without segregation was viewed as idealistic. Idealism is the first step towards becoming a reality.
I hope I never 'grow up'. Forgive me for having faith in my country that things can change for the better, rather than just accepting how things are.
It wasn't that he grew up, necessarily, he just thought he found the loophole to order "prevailing" over freedom. He formed a major rift in revolutionary thought that will have to be mulled over by resistance fighters for some time to come.
Hi- These clips are from a public access tv program that aired from 1977-1995. It was anti-authoritarian in nature and politically radical as well as humorous. ....Coca.... producer and star of ,"If I Can't Dance, You Can Keep Your Revolution."
Abbie's comment on Jerry are certainly chilvarous. I wonder how he truly felt about Mr. Rubin's foray into the personal growth movement and his abandonment of the sixties ideals.

I think he felt the same way the rest of us felt...... betrayed. Jerry saw a way to make money and left his politics aside.

@Cocacrystal82
Yeah, but Jerry's death was rather noteworthy...in more ways than one.
He was killed jaywalking.---And it was his final act of thumbing his nose at authority.
He may very well have been a "sell out"......but you gotta admit, the manner in which he died really makes you shake your head (and smile).
