  • I saw this guy when I went to NZ... and I still have his cd he!! Sweet as!! :D

  • I met this guy last night on Queen Street. After shouting a homeless man a coffee, he handed me his guitar and we had a jam. Then he gave me his album for free. This guy is the man.

  • hes my uncle

  • Lovely song. Luke always manages to touch one's soul.

Nice video though I think it may have worked better with an older rather than a young woman. Not only is this woman so hot to be distracting, I think it is much more likely that an older retired woman with plenty of life experience is the kind of person to have a mental check-list of emotional experiences to collect during the day.

  • Are you one of them older women,? heh heh, Sorry for being cheaky!

  • Second best song? Naaaaaaah. I like it...but there's many better...'Speak and Run', 'Greenfields', 'Ghandis Ghost' and it's predecessors...

  • that's just what Luke said...

  • we were in a hostel with him in dublin and called one of his concerts. nice guy with beutiful songs.

  • superb..........forget the finns,,,dave dobbyn,,,,this guys is light years ahead of anything in this country,,,,his compositions are so natural and not produced for the masses...or forced just to make a cd,,,,,

  • luke is the best! By an italian friend

  • respect! well done

  • 2:03 hot

  • I have admired Luke's music for 20 years, it's great to find some samples on youtube. How about mona lisa and albatross. Luke is a great representative of New Zealand, very talented, very humble, great musician.

  • This video really catches Luke as he is, especially in the beginning where he's like " Hey buddy, how ya goin'? we're shooting a video" Lol. That's Luke:).

  • Great stuff! Nice vid, saw it on TV too...

"Half Cut Kiwi" is my favourite song of Luke's.

  • ps:

You don't happen to know if there's any instrumental version available, by any chance?

    cheers

  • yes there is. On Lukes latest album 'Brother Sun Sister Moon' he has the vocal version on one disc and the instrumental version on disc 2

  • I just love this man!

On my NZ journey i met him twice performing this song on queen st cnr wellesly rd, as kind of an extended instrumental version, that would last for hours and hours. it was a sunny day and i couldn't help but sing and hum along with the overtones, every time the deep bass hit me it sent me shivers of joy down my spine and simply hypnotized me back then!

In fact I never thought to be able to hear this song ever again, so thanks a million times for posting, mate!

  • Same experience, im from mexico and I saw him almost everyday and several times at night playing i queenst. He gave a perfect atmosphere to the place. Saw him play @ borders too, but just a few people went :/

  • Nobody plays guitar like Luke. Well done Monkey Records for posting it. Go New Zealand

  • Luke is a genius.
