  • This is one of the best bands i know and i grew up listening to their music and they are still as awesome now as then......thanks for this masterpiece :-)

  • Is this in Brampton, Ontario Canada on Canada Day?

  • Hint....most of the people in the USA that are aware are not "Warmongers" either. We are at the mercy of idiots that "Rule" us.....

  • @MrJMH1954 sir u forgot mention they think we live in igloo's how stupid can they be I MUST TELL U SOMETHING FUNNY I WAS A TEENAGER COMING HOME FROM LACROSSE GAME THAT I WAS PLAYING IN IT WAS AUG. VERY HOT A CAR FROM OHIO STOPPED ASKED ME HOW CAN I GET TO THE NORTH POLE I SAID TAKE THE TRANSCANADA HIGHWAY GO WEST TO B.C. THEN GO NORTH TO THE YUKON NEXT GO EAST TO THE N.W.T. THEN GO TO BAFFIN ISLAND THEN TAKE A FLOAT THEY WILL DROP U OFF HOW STUPID CAN THAT BE EH

  • I don't think he said anything wrong!!| Truth hurts ,i suppose>

  • Haha wow how self conscious are Americans? CNN covers international news in case you forgot.

  • Not exactly bashing in my view. We do live in a phenomenal place in Canada.

  • extraordinario lider cantante y compositor, y que mirada en el m 3.40 en el lapsus del guitarra, jeee grande Cummings un crack el tío!!

  • I must have missed something, cos I didn't hear one bad word about anything. All he was saying was how great Canada is (which it is), I heard no bashing of any other country.

  • @tsjrlover yeah . .he didn't say anything bad about anything, Just said he wanted to kiss Canadian soil. Shoot, so do I ..

  • I live on the St. Lawrence River in the U.S. that separates us from the great country of Canada. I have nothing but good things to say about Canada. They have great music and awesome historical sites to visit. Canada is a very beautiful country. People need to see it to appreciate it more. Burton didn't really say anything bad about the U.S. he is just a very proud citizen of Canada. I think everyone is proud of where they live so we shouldn't take that away from others.

  • @tjerwin1 I live in Canada, and I also have nothing but good things to say about the US. I've been to Florida a few times throughout my life, and I've always loved all the Americans I come in contact with. You guys rock!!!. I'm really glad we're neighbors.

  • Burton, don't you know that since 1945, the 2nd motto of the United States is "Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee!"

    You're welcome!

  • i am an unemployed american without health coverage,

i wish i lived in Moosejaw

  • As a Canuck I get a little tired of anti- Americanism. My gosh America isn't utopian but they don't wear horns either. Burton's introducing a song ...Jeez.

  • @davidgrahammichael

As an American i'm getting tired of ignorant dimwitted americans feeling insulted and "anti-americanized" at the drop of a hat, especially when the performer in question didn't mention the US at all in his commentary

  • I didnt take that to be a snub at the United States I took it to be he was refering to the state of the world in general., Im an American but some of us Americans need to learn its ok for another country to be proud also

  • AMEN....Canada number 1.

  • I love this guy but why does he have to knock the USA? Seems uncalled for..

  • @evanrkg My friend, hes not knocking the U.S. he did not say that, hes a Canadian and proud of it. Turn on CNN just look at the world as a whole times are rough no ones blames the U.S. for anything actually theyve been saviours to some countries, Canada and U.S. have fought side by side many times.

  • @evanrkg - He is not bashing the USA...he is saying he is proud to be a Canadian. I'm sure he wouldn't get pissed, nor would I, take it as an affront if you said you were proud and grateful to be an American. What's wrong with him being proud of his roots? I love the US...but I can still take pride in the fact that I am Canadian. Don't be so sensitive.

  • I just read that Burton Cummings is set to Recieve the Order of Canada from the Governor General in 2010.

  • Burt is prepping to become a U.S. citizen ... I'm just sayin'

  • He didn't sprout this USA bashing when I saw him this past summer in Boston, it's one thing to be a pround Canadian, another to critisize the hand that feeds, love these guy's, but all musicians should leave the politic's in the lyrics and shut the fuck up, they are no more enlightened of the world than anyone else, it only belittles the value of music when they add political comments, let me ask you, would this video be better without the comments or with??

I want music, not Politicle BS

  • Once again it proves that its ok for a yank to belittle others but when the shoe is on the other foot its an entirely different story. If you remember correctly during the time he was making this comment the US was not the direct target..It was comment stemming from the current state of the world in general.Where we here in Canada told Bush to shove off we don't need his double speak up here.We are antion of Peacekeepers NOT Chest thumping warmongers.

  • @6sixkids6 If it wasn't for our chest thumping you'd be speaking Canada would be speaking German.

  • @6sixkids6 If it wasn't for our chest thumping, Canada would be speaking German. Also, your analysis is correct. He is talking about how safe Canada is versus the much of the world

  • @mse1576 Um, sorry to burst your bubble but Canada had a large part in winning WW1 and WW2. But this has nothing to with the video.

    Great song!

  • @lantz1992 Iam Canadian!!!!

  • @6sixkids6 - Well-said from a fellow Canadian :)

  • @6sixkids6 SIR U CAN SAY THAT AGAIN LIKE U I LOVE MY COUNTRY WE ARE PEACEKEEPERS REMEMBER THE UN WAS FOUNDED CANADA PLAYED FOURTH POWER AS PEACEKEEPERS. I AM IN THE RESERVES AS U KNOW WE MUST VOLUNTEER TO SERVE TO FIGHT WITH EXCEPTION OF WW1 WW2. NOW I AM NOT BAD MOUTHING THE USA NEVER WOULD I DO THAT NEVER USA IS A GOOD COUNTRY. BUT BURTON WAS TELLING ABOUT THE WORLD.

  • @Mytoob69 I like the idea of artists using their art to make a statement, but I don't see anything wrong with the preamble to the song here. I don't think he was offering a criticism of America, or American media, but an observation about how we're lucky as Canadians to live in a privileged country. This goes also for Americans. As Leonard Cohen said in concert, "We are so fortunate to be able to gather in places like this when so much of the world is plunged in darkness and chaos."

  • @Mytoob69 - He's entitled to his opinion and his right to voice it....musician or not. Leave it at that.

  • @Mytoob69 I didnt take it as he was bashing the USA. I took it to mean he was glad Canada wasnt involved in war. Who can blame anyone for that? Nobody likes war. Im just appreciating his music. Besides, what celebrity doesnt tend to let his views be known because of his status? I think they ALL do. He hasnt gotten on a soapbox; look at the song, "Share the Land".. look at the lyrics. He wants PEACE, just like the rest of us.

  • @Mytoob69 There was ZERO American bashing here. Sorry for the facts. He said that canada happens to be a better place than other parts of the world. He said nothing bad about America

  • @Mytoob69 Tough! You don't like it, turn off your computer. Maybe it's time you took some constructive criticism, bud. I have lots of cousins in the U.S. and I do kiss the ground every time I return. Maybe you should look up to us and change some of the stupid laws and systems you got, pal. Come on up here, let your hair down, smoke some pot throw away your guns, and marry a fag!!! LMAO!!!

  • @Mytoob69 Songs have meaning. This is generally a song that's often associated with being about Canadian pride. Most Canadians are not going to kiss your ass just because we're neighbors.

  • Canada loves you Burton!! Burton makes you proud to be Canadian. Thanks Burton!!

  • i love canada!!!!

  • Excellent sound quality !

  • Canada!!!! I LOVE you guys!!

  • He's great! It amazes me too how he still looks so young. I've never seen anyone age so slowly!

  • Dorian Gray?

  • Thx for the support as a Canadian, thank-you

  • Bover doesn't make many mistakes. He also plays guitar for Ron Sexsmith so hes gotta be pretty Professional

  • he blew one note, big deal

  • I know that Burt can be hard to get along with at times, so Im sure that guitarist caught supreme hell after that flopper of a solo

  • he performed in victoria on BC day it was awesome

  • You would be correct. Also it doesnt state Bachman is involved in this performance. This is Burton Cummings not Bachman Cummings.

  • That isn't Bachman on guitar is it? it couldn't be, he wouldn't mess the solo up like that

  • Oh yeah we have some good microbeer here that would give that runny water you call beer up in Canada a run for its money...Cheers!!! God Bless

  • Just another timeless talented man that we love in the US also..How bout a gig at the Ramshead Tavern in Annapolis Md. Burton. Its been too long my friend

  • good to hear from burton..but...man,no voice has changed so much at this point.

  • where was this??

  • I want to talk to Burton Cummings.

  • i wanna know why he came to ching for canada day but hes still sick

  • Love it!!! Thanks so much for posting this!!
