@h68819 Umm actually anemones kill fish with stinging cells on their tentacles which causes paralysis and death IIRC. But anemones don't use poison, I don't know if they use venom or not.

@3o4Titties Chances are low that its a pistol shrimp killing your fish. I have a tiger pistol shrimp in my tank, and its never harmed anything. I'm pretty sure that even if it wanted to kill a fish, it wouldnt be able to, on account of being blind. Maybe inverts, crabs, other shrimp, or snails, but not fish. You could have a mantis shrimp though.

Goldfish are nowhere close to the dietary make up of the fish and inverts anemones eat in the wild. they are nutrient deficient on all different levels. feeding saltwater fish or inverts freshwater feeders is proven to drastically decrease the animals lifespan.

This particular kind of anemone is a notorious fish tank-mate killer, because if you don't feed it, it's tentacles get longer and longer and skinnier. Clearly this one wasn't fed very well.
