@wlixmary but we proclaim Christ crucified: a stumbling block to jews, and foolishness to gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews & Greeks alike, it is the power and wisdom of God.
@wlixmary Consider the cross of Christ: Oswald Chambers (an early twentieth century Scottish pastor and teacher) wrote about it this way: "[The Cross of Christ] was the supreme triumph...The Cross was not something that happened to Jesus... the Cross was His purpose in coming. The Son of God in human flesh has no meaning without that lifeless flesh hanging on a cross."
The peace that surpasses all understanding can only come from believing in the way, THE TRUTH and the life. Anything else will ultimately let you down.
Response Part 1: People who do not believe in Jesus do not understand because the Holy Spirit has not yet worked on their hearts. Praise God that you know that God made heavens and earth. His power is revealed throughout nature and in Scripture. Actually, as Christians sent to share God's love, we DO want non-believers to watch this video and learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And we DO want them to express their doubt.
Response Part 2: When the disciple Thomas doubted Jesus' resurrection, Jesus invited him to come closer and question and learn. John 20:27 says: Then he (Jesus) said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
We can pray for non-believers and try to understand their doubt and confusion.
@gepenner st. thomas aquinas once said that it's pointless to try to convince an atheist of God on the grounds of the bible, as they tend to not recognize the bible as authoritative ;) just sayin, its better to talk to them on their terms, and save the higher-level spiritual matters (like the authority of the bible) for later.
God is so awesome, i praise him, for every thing, Glory be to the King of Kings! My brothers and sisters in Christ, God loves us all so dearly, hold that, may no one misguide you. God bless
St Thomas Aquinas who was a very staunch believer was also a man of reason - undoubtedly one of the greatest theologians to have ever lived - his motto was 'faith through reason'.
Faith is sometimes believing in things you cannot understand - if we understood everything then we would be God ourselves.
It is arrogance to believe that everything about God can be proved by the scientific evidence of man. I take the message of the Bible and the witness of the Saints - the miracles among other things as evidence.
GloriousTrinity: I hope you learn the truth about Thomas Aquinas. He wrote the script" how to deal with heretics" and he bears a lot of responsibility for the murders of the Inquisition, for he had powerful influence in the church at that time. It is unfortunate that the church chose to grant him the title of " doctor of the (church)faith"
He desended to HELL is kinda disturbing. Jesus said to the Thief on the cross "Today you will be with me in Paradise". Catholics read your bible. Luke 16:19 RICH MAN & LAZARUS. Paradise is Abraham's bosom. All Old Testament people are in this compartment. Jesus took them all to heaven.. I'm muslim.
The word hell in this instance is not referring to the Hell of eternal damnation, but the place referred to in the Bible as Sheol, Hades and the bosom of Abraham - some translations rather than saying 'He descended into hell' say 'He descended unto the dead'.
1 Peter 3:19 tells us Jesus 'went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.'
In 1 Peter 4:6 we are also told 'the gospel was preached even to the dead, that though judged in the flesh like men, they might live in the spirit like God'.
Having read some of what the so called theologian Spong has to say, I'd say it's simply a re-hashing of old heresies.
He seems to hold the Gospel of Matthew and Revelations in contempt simply because they explicitly mention the dreaded hell that he is such a staunch denier of. He denies the Fall of Adam and Eve described in the Bible as mere fable, he denies the bodily ressurection of Christ, he denies the virgin birth.
Yes - as he says, we shouldn't just do good things because we fear Hell and want the reward of Heaven - we should genuinely want to serve God and our neighbours - if we love God we will keep His commandments - love your neighbour as yourself.
I trust in the teaching that has existed since the time of Christ regarding Heaven and Hell - not the teaching of some heretical theologian who denies so much of what is fundamental to Christianity.
There's not really much I can say about this video. I've been listening to this song since I was very little and all my life it's been sort of a theme song for me. It's a very awesome song and the definition of my faith. Because it does make me what I am. And if it were not for what I believe I would not be anything like the way I am today. Great song!
This ultimately one of my favorite songs! It's posted as one of my favorite videos thru u-tube! Thanks for your interpretation! You did an excellent job at putting your video together!
excuse me but i think Krishna is not into muhammad...Krishna is just another language for God... this people just because they only speak english they would hurt peoples feelings... God in our country is Diyos..
You misspelled "faithfulness!!" Maybe I'm being picky, but for something that tells such an important truth, it needs to look professional. Especially because I know this video is being shown in some churches, ministries, etc.
Hey, Thanks! I agree-- it needs to be professional. I just happened to be in the middle of re-editing the piece when I found your message. It's a quick fix.
Altough this isn't in regard to the origanal statement it goes along slighty. I have a video which I mispelled my own name in xD. How would I go about just changing the video, and not the URL. Do you know?
Hey Sup750, if you are still interested, I have spent many, many hours studying where Christ went during the 3 days of His death. I believe that at one point, He did decent into Hell to take the keys of Death from Satan. If you would like I might can send you a thorough study about this.
His Love is unmatchable. A painful death indeed. He wants us to remember what it took and what He paid for you and I and all of things that we have screwed up. I am thankful for his grace and forgiveness. When it comes to scared. I am indeed scared to death to not be with him and those that love him. You have two choices. Hell or Heaven the choice is easy for me. He is a perfect judge. A corrupt judge would allow sin to be unpunished. Jesus paid the price, ride his free ticket to heaven. Amen
You miss the point. Your god has killed millions of children, women, and men - and that is just the old testament? Did god change? Is he a different god? And if so doesn't that defeat the idea of infallibility? Or is he just not all-powerful? If so - then why worship him at all? But then I wouldn't want to sit in heaven forever and praise a butcher. Even if his ways are higher than mine.
well the beliefs were already in the government when it was founded we r just tryin 2 keep it there & 2end there may have been killin in the old testament but I think its cuz of ppl's sinning but then Jesus came died & rose again & he is was & will be our mercy
so now we dont have to die cuz we all know God is just & judges truthfully & we should b killed but Jesus came & put mercy himself between us & his Father so did any1 change no God just took a part of himself & made Jesus Christ 4 our own sake man what a God!!!! amen & praise the lord!
Very touching how we get to see that repulsive symbol of Christianity; a man dying a horrible, painfull death on a crucifix.
Because that just about sums up your religion: fear, self-loathing, and death.
You're fully within your rights to believe whatever you like, so I don't mind if you stick your head in the sand for the rest of your life; just don't push your beliefs on people. (or the government, for that matter.)
well the beliefs were already in the government when it was founded we r just tryin 2 keep it there & 2end there may have been killin in the old testament but I think its cuz of ppl's sinning but then Jesus came died & rose again & he is was & will be our mercy

That doesn't mean they were secularists. The reason why they added that to the 1st amendment was to protect the Church from the government, not the other way around. The fact is that there were a lot of different sects of Christianity in America at the time and they didn't want the government to force one sect onto another.
I agree with almost everything... However, You-tube is not a good realm for evangelism. The old saying "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care" comes to mind. Go and be Jesus to people because this creed is for Christians, not non-believers. Actions that come from the change HE wrought in your heart are what demonstrate who HE is to an unbelieving world.
I couldn't agree with you more. Jesus commands us to go and share his love and the Gospel message by engaging people with Jesus in our own communities, our nation and to the world.
Love this video -- only ONE thing --- take Jesus OFF the cross at the end,... show Acts chapter 2. The cross is not the end.

Great question!
Nature testifies to it and the Word of God, the Bible, reveals it. That's a condensed answer. If you want to converse more I'd be glad to.

Look to the teachings of Christ Himself, and look to what the ancient Church Fathers, the apostles and the earliest Christians believed.
Put your faith in God and His Christ.

In fact, generally he just denies the authenticity of the Bible as the inspired word of God.
I suspect he would quite happily rip out several books he disagreed with - especially as it is clear he doesn't really view the content as important.
It appears that he is a fan of the general message of 'be nice', without looking at the rest of the message.
