  • OH MY GOD THIS ACTUALLY WORKED!!! I was convinced it was some sort of hardware failure!! You get a like + subscribe, thank you sir!!

  • Didn't work for me, but thats probably cause theres sooo much dirt in mine.

  • after a while this does not work anymore

    Thank You!

  • fukc me, this is great. tried some other shit that didnt work 10 sec before this vid; now - hell, its workin again!

  • now, why is this working i wonder..?

  • worked for me

  • gracias macho, chupao y efectivo

  • This isn't cleaning the mouse. Its just prolonging the need to clean it properly by dismantling it. It will work great for a while but the problem will come back until you do a proper job.

  • Holy shit. Took several times, but less than 5 minutes and it is scrolling like new. Thanks a ton!!!

  • You rock ! Thanks a lot !

  • It worked! The only weak link in Mac's chain mail was the peripherals, and now that this problem is solved I have not a single complaint.

  • Just posted a link to this video to Brandeis University's internal IT ticketing system, on a thread I started last month about these mice breaking. Hopefully most of the units that have stopped functioning will be fixed by this. It already fixed the one I'm using right now.

  • Works!!!

    Thanx!!!

  • thanks all these other vids talk about glue and breaking open things ....FUCK THAT

  • shit ! it works man !!

    thanks a lot !

    best cleaning method !!

  • If it doesn't work at first, keep trying. Took a while to work, but holy cow... it works great!!!!! I saw all kinds of gunk come out of it after it broke up.... Thanks a ton.

  • but thats a picture of a robot with a gun howed u get that question from that o_0

  • This is the best method! I also rubbed some isopropyl alcohol on it too... but I dunno if that helped... or if it might have some adverse effects down the road.

  • cheers!

  • Thanks. I just used this on a scroll ball that had totally stopped working, and it took all of 30 seconds for it to work and scroll almost as good as new. If you're viewing this, try it before going to the extremes shown in other videos. You'll be glad you did.

  • thanks!!!! wow, this really works very well!

  • Very nice! it's worked to me! Now I can scroll up and down again. Thanks guy...

  • wow, that really worked thanks alot.!!

  • Amazing! It worked! Haha, thanks!

  • I tried rubbing alcohol and sticking a little piece of paper into the mouse and nothing. This one works!!! Thank you, Wouldeneye! You are a prince.

  • this worked great. thank you so much. :D

  • lol@cheery pie tune :-)

  • awesomesauce. i just watched a ten-minute video on completely dismantling the mouse and figured there had to be an easier way. there is, and this is it! a thousand thanks. i love it when a simple solution really works.

  • No joke, this works! I took small dabs of water and a microfiber cloth and cleaned it like that, only got minor results, then I did this and....what do ya know, it works!

  • Wow!!!!this really worked.

  • I was honestly doubting that it would work with my mouse but dang, it did work!

  • holy cow, it worked! cheers

  • dude...it worked. Thank you, you auzzie wanka! said with luv.

  • didn't work for me just made me look like an idiot

  • AMAZING. i've been constantly doing the blow&roll movement + digging around the outside of the ball with a needle. but that stopped working after a while!

then i found this and it completely worked in seconds!!

  • OMG Thank you!!!!!!!

  • I was about to take it apart but your trick "did the trick" thanks man u just saved me a tun of time :)

  • You are the MAN. AWESOME!

  • Wow. It really DID work.

I cleaned it with a bit of rubbing alcohol a couple of days ago and it wouldn't roll upward. I thought I broke it. I did this dry and it works like a charm again. Thanks!!

  • WOW! This was awesome and here I thought I was going to have to dissect my mouse. You just saved me and I'm sure so many others so much frustration. Thank you.

  • RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy God it works

  • WOW! thanks!!

  • holy shit... it worked instantly!!!!

  • use magic mouse :)

  • WOW!!! Work like charm!!! THANKS A LOT!!!! : D

  • Basically all this does is stave off having to eventually open it. If you know what the area around the chamber of the ball looks like, there are four little pockets around the rollers. You are essentially just friction brushing the dirt and grime off into those little areas, but it isn't gonna go anywhere. Your rollers will be dirty again soon. However, I would suggest this method as long as you can stand it before taking the mouse apart, but it isn't a substitution for a real cleaning.

  • omfg i was planning to open it and it would have been absolutely worthless!

  • Brilliant!!! WORKED LIKE A FREAKING CHARM!!!

  • Finally!!! another mighty mouse saved :D

my mouse finally rolls again XD

  • This works alright. It gets lighter fluffy stuff out pretty well, but if you've had your mouse as long as i have (4 years) it takes a bit of extra cleaning

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

    finally

  • Thanks for the tip this worked on my mouse - saved me buying another one

  • I was hoping he'd get a hammer and smash it to bits, i was wrong.

  • Two new Mighty Mice in 15 months (under warranty) and while waiting for the second one to arrive, I tried this. FANTASTIC. So much crud came out, I was even shocked. Tried their method of wet microfibre cloth and nada! I will be doing this a couple of times a week from now on. Thanks so much.

  • paused the video.. walked down stairs... got knife... came back

    ughhhh fuck

so i tried the method of rolling it on the paper... a big booger poped out of the wheel..

    still doesnt work though :(

  • OMG thanks! finnaly!

  • Forget the rest, this is the best. Tried other methods but by far, this was the most successful!. Who would ever think something so simple could be so good.

  • Thank you! It works!

  • Amazing, it worked!

I tried almost everything, this is almost embarrassing.

    Thanks again man!

  • большое спасибо

  • Brilliant!

    It worked! Thanks!!!!!

  • Simply fantastic!! Was just about to pull it apart, since it has been a while since I've been able to scroll (tried cloth, sanitizer and all). This worked as shown! Brilliant! Enjoyed the comedic nature, too!

  • i thought u were just gonna break it

  • You're simply a genius!!! Thank you! (As anybody else, I've been going crazy trying to crack my apple mighty mouse...)

  • OMG IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!

I just spent ages trying to do what the Apple instructions say to do: hold it upside-sown and rub it with a damp cloth, but it wasn't working; so I watched this, rubbed it against some nearby paper and it started scrolling!!!! YAAAYYYY!!!!!

  • Wow

    really great

I just watched a tutorial showing how to completely take it appart and clean it inside...then i tried this and 5 seconds later its working perfectly

    Thanks alot

  • HAIR LIP! HAIR LIP!

  • Cool, now I dont have to take it apart. The first time I tried this it didn't work. then I applied more pressure and did it more vigorously (mmmmm) Now it works 4.0!

    Thanks dude!

  • THAT totally worked! Thanks!

  • Thank you VERY much!!!!

  • This is the first solution that really worked. I had also tried various solutions on the net. At first it didn't work, so I tried again, and pressed a lot harder. Guess what appeared on the paper. Little smudges of dirt. It actually worked, and my mouse, not only moves better on the screen. It also feels brand knew as it slides. I will continue to use this technique, every week as bobbyhawk suggested. Thanx

  • this is amazing i did exactly what you said and it worked thankyou

  • Thank you sir!

  • you're a genius! works perfectly now! My scroller was really dirty so I had to put more pressure while rubbing it, but now it works!

  • unbelievable.. I was just about to disassemble the damn thing and yes, that's pretty silly considering how well this works!

  • oh. my. gosh. that was the best solution ever! there were so many suggestions online but only YOURS worked. you. are. a. star! cheers, mate!

  • awesome!! totally worked!!!

  • This only works for those situations where the mouse has been kept clean from the beginning of its use. Most folks will have to disassemble the mouse to get it clean enough to start working again. After you get the mouse clean, you can use this tip to keep it clean once per week

  • Good Grief! U r too good man! Thnx dude!

  • mate absolutely crakin thanks

  • Awesome!!!! This worked!

  • Brilliant - thanks - it was driving me crazy!

  • Amazing! I was about to take my mouse apart! Works brilliantly:) Thanks:)

  • first time ever doing this but i was so frustrated and this is an amazing trick. i wouldn't have believed, thought it was a joke but i'm blown away. thank you

  • hahah....cherry pie. wanker!

  • Lol "get a knife exactly like this and throw it away"

I used paper towels and some alcohol instead of a sheet of paper. The alcohol should help loosen up some more dirt.

  • lol yay!!!

  • THS BEST ONE SO FAR... THX

  • whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? this actually works!!! thanks dude!!!

  • Thank You soooo much. I was about to open the thing! This is the best method i have tried yet! My mouse hasn't worked like this since I first got it.

  • wow, thanks, rather took me 2 minutes but my mouse was pretty messed up and completely stuck.

  • WOW! It really works. I think this is the best method to clean it. I get a little worried though... If you do it too much, will the scroll ball go down?

  • Thanks!!! This got my scroll working again! Literally took about 5 seconds to do it.

  • woah that actually worked, it gets the dirt off with pressure and therefore starts working again.
