What do you separate the babies into after they are born? do you eventually seperate them when there older? and even in a big cage such as yours could you put them all in there or would this cause problems?
Thanks for the advise. Ya there is a chance mine might already be Gravid because the man I bought her from housed her with 3 males =0 (ha probably not the best thing he could of done...but at least I saved her from that situation)
This is awesome. You breed them? I have a pair of Jackson's chameleons but for some reason my female never wants to mate with my male jacksons and im too scared to leave them alone in the cage long enough for anything to happen because they seem like they are going to fight . have any pointers on breeding them.
Yes I breed them. But not for commercial purposes. If the female turns really dark, almost black, and start to shake intimidatingly then that means that she is probably already gravid. In that case, keep the males away from her. As they wont care, and will try to mate with her anyways. That leads to immense stress in the female. And stress leads to a shortened life span and death!
Make sure that you understand chameleon language before attempting to breed them :)
@BigDreview Like what for example? Yes, taking them from the wild might mean that some may have a disease, but what disease (from Hawaii) could such a Jackson give a human?
@OtC2471 No, they originally come from Africa (Kenya). Someone took them to Hawaii put them in a shrub during a storm so that they could get rehydrate. And wouldn't you know it, they escaped and procreated.
I have had at least 300 or so (including 24 babies). I do not consider myself as owning one, but rather like visitor. I live in Hawaii, so they live there in trees. They come to me, and just stay with me. When in realize that they want to go back into the wild, i simply release them. I have had chameleons stay for over a year. And other left me already on the same day they came.
Check out my other video, it is about my favorite chameleon. When she had healed from her injuries, I reintegrated her back into the wild. 6 months later she was back at my house. She walked quiet a distance (especially for a chameleon). Maybe she just happened to walk past my house onto my doorstep (literally), or maybe she intended to come back. I do not know if it was a coincidence that she showed up, but when she did, I took her in again.
@shanaynaygogo321 well, never more than 5 at a time (not counting the offspring). But my chameleons come and go. When thy want to go back into the jungle, I let them go. I might see them again, or not. So the past 6 years, I have over 200 individual chameleons. Some for months, and some for only a few days!

A livingroom is not their natural habitat. Leave them alone, don't buy them.
motorbreath1983 11 months ago
can you let them just roam around your room?

@TamboresDeJaykub Sometimes, it depends on the chameleon :)
