best way to stop i think doesnt ruin your wheels, plus doesnt look as goofy as other ways i have seen.ive been doing this one myself and u can stop quicker depending on how sharp you turn.
I was trying to practise Slalom stops last week. I was coming down a hill quite fast. But because of fear or indecision, I couldn't do it properly and I put one leg sideways while the other leg was just going forward. I fell down; the ankle of the sideways leg got rolled and I was quite hurt. My ankle swelled pretty badly. I'm okay this week though. Would love to do skate this weekend. Thanks ORIGINALINLINA, I was watching your vid to get more idea on doing this slalom stops well.
This is also a good way of controlling your speed. I see way to many people going fast down hill and they don't know how do make slalom/parallel turns and they end up cleaning the pavement with their bodies. I'm glad I learned how to ski when I was a kid because it makes inline skating so much easier with that knowledge.
Inline Skating is so fun. I'm 36 and just started. I upgraded from cardio skates to "aggressive inline skates" -- even funner. Im collecting tips and tricks on my channel. I can sometimes do this stop but smooth concrete is better than asphalt on the wheels.
None of it is really a hockey stop. The last little flick is almost a hockey stop and it is a method you will use in hockey, but it is not a real hockey stop. Check my other vids for a full sliding hockey stop.
What type of Blades do you use?? CRAZY????

@BoffPansy Salomon S-Lab FSKs.....one of the best skates ever, but Salomon is now out of the skate business.

Amazing. None of this is as easy as it looks. I'm still not comfortable going on downhills because my breaking techniques are still rusty.

try to get down low, and turn tons of corners as fast as you can, like a slalom skiier.
When you get used to it, you'll notice that certain ways of turning corners tightly will tend to slow you down.
Just go on a corner turning RAMPAGE RARGH
(imma go practice right now)
