This Ascona has the 1982 World Title against Audi Quattros! He is going half-throttle, because the 400's had 280-380hp! This Ascona 400 seems to be fitted with the humble 4-speed gearbox, WHY? If it's a GENUINE 400, it should have a 5-speed. Also, who EVER drives on ICE? So, maybe you can buy a new car which is a little quicker on ice, but I drive on Tarmac roads, like everyone else! Repeat this "race" on a normal road, and the new Insignia will be a dot in the rear-view mirror of the 400!

@CallMeMister99 Well, people living in the northern parts of our planet usually have to deal with snow and ice conditions during the winter, so driving on icy and/ or snow covered roads is quite normal for folks in the northern parts of the USA, Canada, Scandinavia or Siberia. The slippery period can last as long as 6 months on the public roads, depending on where you live. So, a lot of people drive on ice :P

As asconan said, this does NOTHING but attempt to demean the sporting heritage of Opel, but it's a HUGE fail. Way to go, to piss-off the faithful! The Ascona 400 was intented to win rallies, and it proved itself in the heat of Africa, and all over Europe. I don´t get the point. The ascona is not in proper use in this video. Take any 2wd car with road-legal tyres and put it against (almost) any 4wd car on a curved ice track. You don´t need to be a rocket scientist to guess the result.
