@iEpicFail247 It's called a "pinch harmonic" on the 5th fret of the low E string. basically you pick the note normally but let your thumb on the picking hand hit the string immediately after you pick the string while you are still in the picking motion. it takes practice, but you can get it!

You said the only les Paul you've used that could come close to the one you used which looked like a prs se was a 79?? I have a les Paul custom dc era 2000 with emg's and I'll contend that it's more than the guitar, its the musician as well. I play a les Paul because it was my first "real" guitar. I love prs, they use nice components but than again so do I. Good cover

@GuitarRock6 It's not a Les Paul, it's a PRS Mark Tremonti model. It's similar in sound to a Gibson Les Paul. It has a bit of a brighter sound with more note clarity I think... the Les Paul sounds more muddy. The PRS also feels like it is higher quality.

@AlterTremonti I agree. The only Les Paul that I've played that was anywhere near the PRS Tremonti was a 79 Les Paul Custom (maple neck helped on clarity and brightness). However, I've tried multiple Les Pauls and have always gone back to PRS. But it's a matter of taste.  Some guys will only play Gibson because they want to be seen with a Gibson and not a PRS. I close my eyes and forget about stage image and let my ears and hands do the deciding.

But basically you take the edge of your palm on your picking hand and gently slide it over the strings, while using you fretting hand to fret different notes moving between them really fast by doing pull offs, in this case 8, 6, and 5 (which is in the key of C# minor).
