  • theres a song written about this little boy. should listen to it

  • Terribly Heartbreakin! I too believe he Resting n Peace and in the Arms of God where he will never know pain or sickness again, nor will he EVER be abonded again! Rest in Peace little Guy....

  • Thank you for this.

  • This must really be a good town unlike milwaukee! very sad story! I was about to cry! The music really helped understanding this was a very sad story! I would have left toys there too. Too sad to know he was unidentified and was unnamed on the grave. How did they fill out his death certificate not knowing who he was?

  • its good that ppl leave things for him. and its sad no one knows how he doing or that possibly no one was watching out for him or maybe reporting he was missing so they could have a good idea who he was. why was he traveling alone in the first place? shoulda used a diff song for this though. sheryl crow dont know how to sing and i hear shes very self centered.

  • Please all! Forgive me for my last comment. I have trouble dealing with stupidiy at times. Life is hard enough without worry over such selfish comment....... God bless the weak. I Love you all.

  • mrcrazyadamn1 Are you for real? Talking about the dead that way, especially a little boy! Really shows what a true creep you are!!!!!! Keep your comment's to yourself from now on & by the way, learn to spell you illiterate dumb bastard!!!!!!!

  • i fell sad

  • mrcrazyadam1 How dare you sit there and talk like that about a child a child that was completely out of line and shows how little of a man you realy are. You have no respect what so ever. It is heart breaking when a child dies and what if this little boys family that probaly never new what happend to thier little boy. and you sit here and say that. From now on keep your opinons to yourself. Couse we do not want to hear them.

  • when the song said i waste time i did waste my time watchin this vid little boy 1999-up your ass around the corner and gay song who singa cause i wanna punch her face bye now: in memory of little fat ass boy i mean little gay boy i mean little lezbean

  • @mrcrazyadam1 wow, what a retard lol btw its hard to take some dumb fuck like you who cant spell "lezbean" correct lol go learn something you dull faint of a man..

  • I grew up there. I went back last month. Time just seems to never touch Graniteville which is a good thing. It did however touch the little boy. A new head stone, new concrete bench. I could do without the three crape myrtle tree's though. In a cemetery adorned with ancient cedar's covered in Spanish moss. Come on! Lose the myrtles and can anyone tell me where his original head stone that has been there since 1855 is now?

  • I agree with GregLee63. There was a spelunker in Australia who came across remains in a cave. It turned out that they were 40,000 years old and when volunteers were requested at the local school, the one of the teachers was related. But the law does not have that kind of compassion. It would take an act of Congress to exhume the remains.

  • I wonder if they Exhumed his remains and do DNA if they would find his Identity ??

  • This is the grave of a child?

  • sad :(

  • What I don't get is how people can be like this about the Little Boy and then treat the so called "Witch", who was just a child herself with so little respect, trying to bust up her grave and everything and everytime I go there her grave looks worse and worse. If the people who kept it up weren't retarded and wouldn't accuse me of doing the vandalism I'd fix that one up, but after seeing it for years abandoned and broken I finally saved up my change and bought flowers and put them on her grave.

  • I recently read an article about a group that wanted to place a new headstone on this grave and clean it up. There were several responses and one lady told how she comes to Graniteville from New York every year to place flowers and toys on the little grave. I wish I could remember where I read it and I would send you a copy.

  • 4freespeech probably hit it right on the head..... even though it happened so long ago, i think we can all relate to the story....... to picture a innocent child away from home all alone.... but it shows people had compassion back in the good old days..

  • I just read about The Little boy in the book Weird Carolinas. I still can't believed nobody tried to search for him. If his parents put him on the train, I'm sure they could've f ound out which stops the train made and where. It almost sounds like nobody cared, but then again they didn't have the different types of communication back then like we do now.

  • @pickfordsmith and @4freespeech I agree with you both, but in those days and generations, children were just young versions of adults. There was no real "child awareness" we have today. Children were valued for their production capabilities, and if this one wasn't producing, then abandoning him to make him someone else's problem and was not unheard of. Sad, but true. It would not be surprising to learn that those pilgrimages and gifts did not happen until the 20th Century.

  • In those days that little guy could have been an orphan whose parents died of smallpox, diptheria, scarlet fever or any number of old time sicknesses people got back then. Maybe neighbors put him on the train to a distant relative but he had

already caught the disease from his parents and died a few days later. People up in WV where I'm from would just take orphans in whose parents had been neighbors. Always more help needed on the farm. Children were an asset then, instead of a burden.

  • are you related to joesph powell that works at the walhalla midle school.

  • Poor Baby, how his parents must have been heartbroken,I know I would if that happened to my son. He was so little too..so sad they didn't know who he was when he passed. He must be enjoying all the goodies he see's ppl leaving for him...Bless his lil heart.

  • @Mom2kiddos He isn't enjoying his goodies...he's dead and therefore knows nothing, for the dead know nothing at all according to The Old Testament. His only hope lays in The Resurrection on The day of Atonement, no doubt he will be in Heavenly bliss then.

  • AW! That is so sad! Poor little baby :[

  • Graniteville cemetery is in graniteville honey

    not aiken

  • im the one who left the firetruck from nyc..im coming back in late oct to bring lots of gifts....thanx for the video....plz post more....

  • I does not necessarily means they have hearts, it means they are attracted to the mysteries of nostalgic tales, if they new who he was the gifts would stop, the gifts are only so they can become part of the intriguing story, and this is the sad truth.

  • Wow, thanks for posting this. My surveying party chief and I were driving through and saw the memorial and wondered what the story was. I can't wait to call and tell him.

  • thats very intresting in a sad way. i feel bad for him, died so young. i wonder what was hes name, its from many years ago...i hope he is resting in peace.

  • I placed a couple of my granddaugthers toys there this past Christmas at her request. She said she wanted him to have a Merry Christmas too. I cried all the way there and back. Very sad story. God Bless you angel. We love you.

  • That's so sad, his parents must have suffered so much pain never knowing what happened to their angel. The people in your town must be very caring to visit him after all these years.

  • Instead of leaving gifts, why don't they clean his head stone?

  • I think his purpose is being live everytime ppl leave gifts or thoughts & prayers. A coming together so to speak. The little bloke's running round havin fun now I bet X

  • i bet he is... He does seem to bring people together. Where else could you leave money and no one steal it?

  • That's crazy yes I agree.

But that's how it should be, a cemetery is a place of rest and respect so I'm glad the coin's are still there.

  • i am too, those coins should never be touched. Im glad you stopped and checked out my video also. thanks for noticing me...

  • @lissame73 Being from Graniteville, I am so glad someone took their time to do this. I so adore your video. You are the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lissame73 His story proves he's not at rest, poor young boy.

  • this is a really good video. it's so sad! thatnks for posting this!

  • it is sad.. It proves people do still have hearts i guess.. glad you enjoyed it
