  • believe it or not im paying for 1mb and my ISP gives me 4.5mb more for free plus phoneline for 26 $ oh btw i got the same 2wire modeem lol

  • <3 cox. but cant get them where im at..

  • i have 20Mbps, cable modem from warner :)

  • @commanderbly009 hi can you tell me does cable modem support wifi network, you know...i have two laptops and i want to connect them both with this modem,is it possible,or i need to buy an wireless router?

  • @bumtaksi

i dont use any ethernet chord, i connect wirelessly, and there is a limited range of how far the signal goes, its not for long range

  • @commanderbly009 yeah...but it's in my house...range is about 7-8 metres,so i don't need to buy one router?

  • Is the problem.......CANADA?

  • Now alot people uses fibre broadband and the cable modem will slowly become faster and there will be more promotions from the cable modem . I have three cable modems currently in my home and it is quite fast even when there are alot users using the Internet .

  • what the hell? "upload speed doesn't matter, you kiddin me? with facebook youtube, those cloud services and other things that you UPLOAD content to, you need a fast upload speed.

  • i have cox and i pay for 28mb download and 2.0mb upload and i get 27mb download and 6.0mb upload

  • A lot of it depends on your location, quality of the wiring, how many people are on in that area, etc etc. It varies by location, though every cable connection I've had has been a lot more STABLE and doesn't randomly drop connection NEAR as often as any DSL I've had.

  • i get the same 5.99 mbps! :D

  • 6+ ppl have DSL

  • Dsl is trash i get kind of the same results but ima chanqe to cable internet and see if its good and 1 question why does upload speed results doesnt even go more than 1 mgb?

  • and coaxial has infinite potential O=

  • @xJAMES3200x currently, adsl2+ is not available in canada.

  • there are somany veribles this test proves NOTHING

  • @xJAMES3200x VDSL not Available where i live

  • DocSIS (Cable Internet) rulez!

  • are you downloading something because it seems like slow?

  • @Megadeth6633 That's because he had one computer connected to each modem.

  • You are wrong about how upload speed doesnt matter. you have to send to recieve.

When you ping a server it has to send packets to recieve packets. Or it has to upload packetes to download packets. Your welcome for informing you about upload speed and its importance.

  • bell fucking sucks :|

  • it's not even the same ISP

  • so i have comcast's 15MBPS package and im getting 22MBPS downlaod 5.50MBPS upload (witch maters to me for uploading videos) thats on wireless G and on a wired connection i get 26MBPS donwload and 6-7MBPS upload.

  • then why do i lag on my xbox so mush?

    download:5.61

    upload:1.36

    some1 plz help :(

  • @Foreignteller perhaps your ping is too high, or you're getting packet loss. go on pingtest.net

  • Asshole still using IE6. What the Fuck?

  • If your speed is falling below the range that you are paying for then you should call your internet provider to get that fixed. Could be a network issue from the server or a bad phone jk.

  • My schools best speed test was 311.56Mbps but that's because it was set up using fibre optics to a test server not that far away

  • i have at&t also but mines fiber optic

  • in Australian i get about 20 mbps

  • DSL is more stable for gaming though cable modems tend to overheat more due to the noisy line that comes with TV is all I'm saying

  • I find it difficult to believe that a. the latency is EXACTLY the same for both services, b. there is only 10ms to the test router, and c. cable is ABOVE the speed for which you pay. None of this smells right.

  • Wow. Its insane how diffrent the speeds are in another state. So slow in that state. 15/2.5 mbps in my state with the lowest speeds.

  • I'm staying with my friend who has fast access dsl which disconnects us from xblive every 5 minutes. I let him know every day that dsl sucks, lol.

  • HAHA Just got my 15Mbits today and it's uber fast! Cable destroys dsl in every single way.

  • what brand is the dsl modem

  • @700gsteak 2wire 2701HG-B Gateway I have the same one.

  • @philipkimbrell90 they also shitty routers also.

  • @xJAMES3200x about 25Mbits I think.

  • @xJAMES3200x

That P2P is not much, it limited up to 3.2 MB/sec downstream after shoots up to around about be 7 MB/sec in burst short then falls down to about around 3.1 MB/sec.

  • @xJAMES3200x

I get almost 100 Mbits/sec on cable over DOCSIS 3 so how's that? that is certainly comparison to VDSL 100 Mbits/sec?

  • @Ikyuao Enlighten me, please: on what planet are you getting INTERNET SPEEDS of 100Mbs; it certainly is not Earth, unless you are at a test lab and 1 ft from the router.

  • i think that site is kinda bs??? I got comcast too but it says my download speed is 20.18 mb/s and upload is 5.3 mb/s

  • dsl is way better, my friend has cable and always has trouble he gets 512kns and i get 8000kbs

  • My DSL is faster than your cable!

  • Lol I am getting 46ms, 23.3dl 1.5 upload Movie = 3mins

  • DSL SUCKS! get cable u idiots

  • @xxxLiVExLiFExxx where I live don't have cable lines, so how do I get it? Get superman to stretch the line from the neighborhood a mile a way to our neighborhood? -_-

  • @YoutuJ3eJ3lows you could do that :P

  • I'm sorry but dsl is TERRIBLE. Mark me down if you want, doesn't make a difference. EVERY single person I have known with dsl no matter what the company hates it. Constant problems like disconnections, modems failing, terrible tech support. Even when they do "fix" the problem, it usually goes right back to the crap it was a few days later. I have had cable for 4 years and it rarely goes out. Even if it does, they usually fix it promptly. It is more expensive true, but you get what you pay for.

  • @Akujitsu I had Embarq/CentryTel DSL for half a year now, no problems at all, always fast. Only $50 a month, 5 Mbps download, 768 Kbps upload, good for me. The upload is faster than some cable internet!

  • I'd like to point out that when he did the DSL speed test, it said: Your Results - He was low, whereas other Bell Canada customers got over 70% faster then him. This states that he's on a LOW plan with Bell, therefore is unable to reach decent speeds.

    DSL wins in Canada.

  • Cable DOCSIS 3 can reach higher speeds then DSL.

However, Cable providers usually only offer speeds at the same level as DSL providers.

For example, Rogers in Canada offers up to 10Mbps in most areas. (Yeah, I know 50 in Toronto, but Bell offers 45 in Toronto as well. Bell Entertainment, look it up).

Bell offers up to 16Mbps in most areas, and up to 35Mbps in many areas now.

Cable is not the clear winner.

  • I'm testing right now 10mbps from cable against 5mbps of DSL. Downloading a 290mb file, DSL took 5 mins and Cable (with double the speed) took 27mins. This was during peak hours. I can download to a steady 500kbps in DSL, but cable goes up and down from 87kbps to 127kbps. For me DSL is better, it's true about the distance restrictions for DSL, but at the end your bandwidht it's yours, in Cable as soon as you go outside your house your bandwidht it's been afected by other users

  • that is true a more consistent speed from dsl modem not to mention the up loads speed that you can get from 12 mbps is out of this world from my 12 mbps dsl i get a 786 kbps up which matters when you are hoasting of playing games plus it is way cheaper

  • You need to boost your ADSL speed like me

  • wats ur dsl speed??

  • cable may be faster ..but its not safer than dsl..

  • rogers is what i have, its not the best

  • sorry but your retarded I hate anyone who is stupid enough to use Internet explorer. =.=

  • u need to call ur Internet provider to increase ur dsl speed, cause it happen to me too,I had a 5mbits connection in i was running in 1 or 2 mbits,so i call my provider and they make the correction.

  • Megabits and Megabytes are different. Your browser reports back in Kilobytes/Megabytes while the speeds they show which you are paying for are megabits. I think to get your actual speed, divide how much speed you are paying for by 8.9

  • my one is 3mbps used to be 1mbps

  • we all know that

  • srry... i forgot to tell in the video

but as you can see the cable is much faster than dsl..

  • @raadraf and verizon fios is faster then cable or as i can say fiber internet is faster then cable internet

  • @fordgt700hp haha but in general fios SUCKS good ol' cable.

  • Which one is better
