I like the facts Gus Van Sant puts lots of references of his own films in the remake, like when the cop says Have a nice day (reminescent of the last scene of my own private idaho) or the dilated pupil in the shower scene (the junkie girl who dies in Drugstore Cowboys) or the passing clouds in the shower scene again(all of his films really)
