According to the book's website, it was published on October 28, 2008 in English. So that means that an english version was produced in America. Therefore, the people that translated the Swedish version smacked on a cover that looked like Meyer's The Host.

I'm very impressed with this Bible! Maybe the secular approach is going to rub some people the wrong way, but I think the point Dag makes starting around 1:10 about how the Bible informs our society, IS our history... pretty brilliant stuff!

If someone who "has faith" is led to the devil by this book, then they never really had it to begin with.

We live in a world of temptation and the definition of faith is being able to resist the temptation towards "sin" because of a belief that there is something more. People who let any book persuade them into something, especially something as large as religion/life and death are gullible at best and never had faith to begin with!

God comes from within and not from a book.

You inferred by reading a reputable translation of the Bible endorsed by The American Bible Society that I was reading hearsay. What makes the text of THIS Bible any less true than the others? What makes yours better? Why does it even matter as long as people are reading it?

Other than some graphic pictures and the same misunderstood stories that ignorant people lap up! But hey who am I to judge what anyone does with their money or their life. Life is what "YOU" make of it. So take control of your life and stop surrendering to someone else's process.

The point is the art "illuminating" the text not that it's just another bible to collect dust. It's meant to be a bible that non-religious people will feel comfortable reading in public and sharing with their friends.

I looked into it. Bible Illuminated is word for word the Good News Bible which they licensed from the American Bible Society. That's how I know.

You are talking about the very book you are praising. Get your facts straight because I don't know where your bible came from, but unless you are fluent in Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic, you are reading the word of a translator, or many translators.
