Btw, does anyone here *know* where can I find a patch translating the language version of P:T to the original, English one?

@Jinxyzzy The files themselves are actually in the game data, that's where I got them. They're just unused in the game itself.

I have the game in english but it would be hard for me to understand, is it possible to get french dialog rather than english one?

@simonsimon405 The music is from Baldur's Gate because I have the soundtrack for that from the Original Saga set, but not Torment's soundtrack.

And I'm pretty sure there was a European release at some point with French, among a few others, as available languages.

There are language packs you can download and mod the game with. Just google for them, they're everywhere

I don't know if the sound files are in the language pack, sorry. I know you can get a lot of mod info in Spellhold Studio's forums (google it, it won't let me post a link)

You can hardly call this an American RPG. On several occasions the developers stated that this particular game was inspired by FF7.

That's hard to believe.. FF7 is a great game, but it's a totally different type of game and there's no real relation in the atomsphere between this and that. Besides, Torment is based on the D&D Planescape campaign setting, which has nothing to do with Final Fantasy..

Actually, the Planescape Torment manual gives credit to FFVII as a source of inspiration. The creator Chris Avelone also said in an interview that he was a FFVII fan and that it influenced a few ideas in PST. These include the magic spells, character weapon types, amnesia plot device, Tifa & Aeris, the three incarnations, and the city of Midgar.

I think f4ckutube's point was perhaps that this shows JRPGs and WRPGs have a lot more in common than the fans would like to think.

Really well done trailer, but... it would have been more appropriate if you used actual music from the Planescape Torment soundtrack for the right type of atmosphere. Baldur's Gate music just doesn't really fit the game.

I can actually account for that: I was lazy.

I had the BG soundtrack from the box set I'd bought some time ago, but I would have had to actually look for the PS:T music.

Not quite. Black Isle made Torment. Bioware made Sonic Chronicles. This confusion comes up because Black Isle and Bioware cooperated on the Baldur's Gate series.

That's because there are a large number of unused WAV files in the install. I didn't record the voice tracks from the game, but used one of TeamBG's hacking tools to extract the voice clips directly.

I always wish to find the way how extract the WAV files from Torment, but never find anything. Can you pleaseplease tell me where is possible to get this tool you are talking about? It would by like satisfy a dream, you are onlyone I can ask. And I tell you this vid maybe isn't from the totally best ones on YouTube but I think you done a good job the characters quotes fit great with music and I love the Morte ending. No, that was Morte, the talking skull in Torment. The line is from a dialogue he has with Fall-from-Grace, when she asked him if, once everything is over, if he would like to come spend some time at the Brothel for Slaking Intellectual Lusts. If you don't know about it, it's essentially a place where higher brow denizans of the city (a.k.a. nerds) go to have intellectual debates and play games like chess with the girls there. Morte, thinking only of the girls, gives said response in the video.

hmm I started playing planescape for the first time and I don't know why I watched this trailer. Anyways I think that it spoiled the story for me, I had no idea that Ignus would join my party later and that the nameless one would get the powers from the bad guy. Great vid tho.
