  • He didnt hear the gun drop *g*

much firepower, low AI. bad deal:)

btw. this is already the unrated scene, heavily cut on tv.

  • Dark humor at it's best!

  • I love yutube.

  • dont forget "robocop" allmost got rating of "x" 4 it graaphic scenes

  • Mr. Kinney, typical example of an urban upstart asshole!

  • Ever since I was 8, I thought this was fucking hilarious.... :P

  • i think the extended version of that scene has the ed 209 shooting him for a good 30 seconds.

  • This -is- the extended version. In the theatrical version, ED-209 stops shooting once Kinney gets blasted back onto the table, you don't see the overhead shot of him still being shredded while laying on the table.

  • Can you BELIEVE that this was supposed to be a funny moment in the movie?! This was supposed to be some sort of "Black Comedy."

  • I find it darkly hilarious...it's so over the top with violence, it's so stupid that it's funny

  • that´s so brutal how he gets shredded.

  • Povero Mr Keene. Dick Johnes pezzo di merda!!!!!

  • llllllllllllloooooooooooolllllllllllllll

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • this scene has and always wil scare the shit outa me

  • I'd buy that for a dollar!

  • Most. Worthless. Robot. Ever. Pretty cool for a stop motion robot though...

  • WHy the HELL did they give Ed LIVE ammo for a demonstration?

  • OCP is a bunch of fascist pricks.

  • That's what I was wondering. And why didn't they have a kill switch?

  • Well, I suppose the big clue is at 1.15, Dick Jones revealing that Ed is actually a military unit and that using it for police work is just a means of marketing it.

In that intended military role, I actually imagine Ed would work very well, spear-heading urban assaults and attached to infantry forces for fire-support. Just picture the carnage to be wrought in a street-battle, with a couple of these laying down heavy fire...

  • That still doesn't explain why they'd give him LIVE ammo for a demonstration on a member of the board.

  • Revealing mistakes: As Kinney is blasted by ED-209 the bullets pass through his body but the glass windows behind him remain undamaged.

  • That never occurred to me. I was too distracted by all of the carnage and the fact that somebody calls a paramedic for a guy that just got ripped to shreds.

  • Geez, I sure as hell wouldn't want that thing patrolling our streets!

  • I've heard of blown away but this is something else !!!!!

  • Paramedic my ass.

  • Must have run on Microsoft Vista XD

  • vista ed premium^^

  • PROXY!!!

  • The designer of ED-209 and Robocop was a genius. To this day the movie industry was not able to come up with cooler robot design :)

  • I think that it is interesting how ED-209 proved to be an expensive piece of junk. It is so close to the situation with the American Auto Industry that this film is hardly satire.

  • hala paramedic diyo ya

  • I think it's to late for a paramedic.

  • MEDIC!!!

Seriously the coolest robot in any film ever. I wonder who provided the menacing voice?

  • Robocop Producer Jon Davison had his voice slightly processed as a temp audio track for a pre screening with Orion execs. They ended up leaving it in!

  • Nice one, cheers :o)

  • If you use Audacity or something to speed the audio up, it sounds just like a normal guy talking.

  • boy kinny jus dont know does he??

  • ed 209 is fucking great

  • But still. If I was that guy, I would have just ran out the room.

  • We better hope that never hits the streets. Otherwise it's the end of the world.

  • That was awesome brought back so many memeories i friggin love this film

  • jesus christ use that in the military not as a fucking cop LMFAO. I would def think twice about stealing if that thing was walking down the street.lol

  • I dont remember it being that graphic on dvd. That must be the theater version

  • its the unrated version, the theatre version is the one u bought

  • Ha ha! its SO over the top! Brilliant!

  • he didn't put down his weapon he threw it down

  • THAT thing on the streets??

The thing has freakin gatlin guns for hands!!

  • Perfect for taking down shoplifters and litterers.

  • I think it'd be better as a war machine..

    NOT a cop..

  • lol

  • what makes me laugh is that if they knew that the machine was possibly defective then why put live rounds in it? lmao

if it was me presenting this robot to everyone id ask before hand if the bullets were removed and then do the arrest and disarm procedure lol

  • I think he was dead after the first scouple of shots, but it just kept going

  • I bet if you stuck a bananna in his tail pipe he'd blow up hahahah

  • you must be an idiot whoever flagged this, probably one of those conserned mommas that are against violence,, idiots......

  • Let me guess. You're American and you own several guns, don't you?

  • What prick flagged this?

  • The first movie scene that gave me a boner.

  • MattSutton1 is on the money. ED-209 was by far the coolest robot in ANY robocop. Even cooler than Robocop himself if you ask me. Kain in the second one was just lame he looked fucking retarded they should have made Robocop fight like a hundred of ED-209's instead. Stupid stairs, that was so cheezy how it was ED's downfall (Heh pardon the pun).

  • As undeniably awesome as ED-209 is, it's kinda sad to see him taken out by an ordinary flight of stairs.

If I were OCP, I'd have just taken those huge cannons and integrated them into Robocop's design. You get manuverability and heavy artilery at the same time.

  • jajaja that was worst than the scene when sonny gets killed in the godfather.

  • its the robot from crusader: no remorse

  • Now that is a BAD day in the office!!

  • "Somebody wanna call a goddamn paramedic?"

Call me crazy, but after 100 bullets in the chest, I don't think he's gonna make it.

  • What the heck is a paramedic gonna do?

I thought I was the only one thinking of that?

  • 100 Snazzes on the 100 point Snazz-o-Scale!

    -Super snazzy!

-This is an excellent scene in a great movie. I wonder how many rounds ED-209 fired? I wonder what would have happend if he brought his rocket launcher online. EEK!

-This scene must come from an extended version because it sure looks like there are about ten seconds more of gunfire than I remember.

-Alas, I'm pretty sure the paramedics aren't going to be able to help Mister McKinney. He gave his life for OCP, may he rest in pieces.

  • When the remake comes out, they'd better not take this scene out!

  • fuckin scary

  • Way to politicize a scene from fucking Robocop.

  • What in the hell was the ED-209 built for in the first place? They wanted to deploy it in Old Detroit to stop the crime. Come on you dumbass. Besides, were in the hell did you learn your English?

  • Hahahahahahahahaha

  • I don't think you "get" the word "politicize."

  • Nope, explain it to me. I need a lesson.

  • Fucking Hilarious :L

  • My Roomba can do that.

  • legendary scene!!! :D

  • before ed powers down he should say thank you for your co-operation

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • fucking seet man

  • After being shot about 15 times, Kinney still had the strength to leap backwards onto that model of the city.

  • Don't touch him...

    DON'T TOUCH HIM!!!

What are they, 5 year olds?

    :P

  • um... ok?

  • nice shot

  • I always liked what Roger Ebert wrote about this in 1987:

"This is a very funny scene...It is funny in the same way that the assembly line in Chaplin's 'Modern Times' is funny- because there is something hilarious about logic applied to a situation where it is not relevant"

I've seen this so many times now that I can't remember what my first reaction was...but it does have a dark humor to it.

And Poor Kinney was just sucking up like a good lil junior executive- the lesson is: never suck up!

  • Wow, scientists smart enough to design a high-tech crime fighting robot but dumb enough to fully load a prototype for simple demonstration.

  • point it at ed-209....

    rofl

  • a couple of those on the streets and juvenile delinquency suddenly wouldn't be such a big problem. Assuming it left anyone alive to care after it malfunctioned

  • WTF is wrong with the Audio preview? L O L :-)

  • I like how they already had the guns loaded (like common sense would imply you don't give a prototype loaded weapons, unless you intend for it to shoot something).

  • esta es la escena mas memorable de robocop

  • dude ed 209 is one crazy robot. but WTF the shouldve realized that he might go crazy. they shouldv thought of this

  • just like the typical american junk always malfunctioning

  • hilarious scene

  • Thats a damn fine piece of shootin, son!!

  • Agora e so juntar os pedacinhos!

  • WOOPS?

  • Thank"s I saw this movie when I was a kid and since then I hate criminals and corrupted companies and governments.

  • ED-209 ready for tour of duty in Afganistan or Irak or both!

  • Wow, that's actually some damn good stop-motion animation.

    I love this scene. ^_^

  • jebas!

  • HA!!! the future of law enforcement he says? And this was what? twenty years ago? If only they knew back then the Reality of law in the future which is now. Quite the opposite of what they seem t have thought. Where r the ed209s? Instead we have a police force powerless against crime. gangs of kids runnin riot. stabbings, shootings. and the law? All they r interested in are drivers doing 31 mph in a 30mph zone. Take nowt away from Robocop tho. classic film

  • Damn, this scene is so brutal. Oh boy, I can't wait til this shit is patrolling my streets. Police state anyone?

  • yeah and it can blow u up for stepping on a blade of grass on a "keep of the grass" field.

  • somebody wanna call a goddamn paramedic??

ohh yea..he better get there soon before the guy dies

  • I know. Those kinds of people piss me off. Are they that retarded? Did you see how many bullets he took? How much blood was shed? And you expect him to BE ALIVE?!? after that? If you really wanted him ALIVE you wouldn't have pushed him right in front of the damn thing.

Eddie didn't kill Kenny, those bastards who wouldn't let him escape killed him. (Puns intended)

Btw, ROFL at the audio preview!

  • "Im very disappointed in you Dick..."

  • whooooah heavy! thats the UNCUT directors version of that iconic scene. The BBFC snipped it somewhat..but here it is in full blood soaked glory.

  • OH MY GOD, THEY KILLED KENNY!!!!!

  • "YOU BASTARDS...!!!"

  • YOU BASTARDS!!!

  • mr kenny went to ibitza , bitza him here bitza him there lol

  • they already made an ed-209. it's called the LAPD

  • I wish ED-209, would be badass to keep the ALF, and any ARA radical in check

  • yeahhhh :-)

  • lmao i love this scene, "you have 20 seconds to comply"

  • I forgot how wonderfully over the top this movie was.

  • don't touch him!.............DON'T TOUCH HIM!!!

  • I love the old man's reaction. He's all, "Oh goddamnit.. Were never going to lower crime rates with this...

  • Call a paramedic!? That shit aint gonna help LULZ

  • WOW!

    good scene!

  • LOL

  • Why doesn't he just run out of the freakin' room? He could have just ran to a stairwell, ran down it, and ED-209 would just fall down the stairs and break. Why bother hide behind co workers who are just going to push him in ED-209's path of fire anyway? Why the hell didn't they test ED-209 in an enclosed room with bullet proof glass?

  • I assume if he ran towards ed209 which the exit was behind ed anyway , ed's programming would have most likely automatically fired as he ran past him so thats no good and the question I want to know is why the hell was ed armed in the first place ,

  • cause like all dumb smart people, they never have a back up plan

  • That was going to be comment, why was he loaded to begin with, it was just a demo.

  • maybe the intention all along was for him to be killed in an "accident"

  • Hm, if we used that as the hot military weapon for the next decade, we wouldn't be in Iraq anymore!

  • No sleep and firepower I can understand..... But reflexes?????

  • Lol is it just me, or did Kinny's coworkers bodily SHOVE him back out in front of the malfunctioning robot?

  • absolutely, his co-worker shoved him. I've been saying that for years.

  • 200 years from now, some one's gonna look back at this movie and say,.. "I'm gonna make a "real" ED 209"! - Thay can make one now.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

  • good old 80's violence...

    :)

  • WOW,virou peneira!

  • After the paramedics patch that guy up he can become RoboCEO

Part Man. Part Machine. All CEO. The Future of Corporate Management.

  • I'd buy that for a dollar!

  • I really don't think doing ED-209 in a CGI style would have the same impact that you get with a stop motion animated model like you get in this film IMHO, Somehow I think ED-209 has more...personality maybe? than you'd get out of something created entirely by a computer.

  • It was great stop-motion effects, but it looked like a small toy to me that was merely super-imposed. It just doesnt look real and heavy.

  • Well it looked like it had a personality and it seemed more 'heavy' than alot of what you get with CGI these days, Not that you can't have some great CGI creations ala the Dinosaurs in the first Jurrasic Park but for the most part IMHO CGI just doesn't give you creations like ED-209 or Harryhausen's monsters lost of the time for me it's cheap eye candy that someone just threw together on a PC.

  • I guess for every Jurassic Park and LOTR film etc with memorable CGI creations it just seems like there's hundreds of others that someone just sloppily slapped together with a blue screen and PC,

Journey To The Center Of The Earth anyone?

For me alot of CGI is lifeless and has just worn off the novelty it had back when it first came out.

  • yay! I love that scene! =D

  • Hahahah, why the hell would you load that thing with real bullets for an executive meeting's test demonstration?

  • "Does anybody wanna call a paramedic?" LOL made me laugh 1st time i saw it

  • does anyone ever notice how the old man the owner or whatever never seems to care whats going on when Ed is shooting hes just sitting there like everthings is fine LOL love this scene

  • Thats a good point actually he never really reacts. I love the look on his face (2.40) he's just like "oh for fuck sake...." lmao

  • yeah its awesome LOL

  • Well, part of being a boss is you have to hold in your emotions and you can't panic.

  • most execs have psychopathic personalities so it fits i guess.

  • "Please put down your weapon, you have 20 seconds to comply.

    ...

You now have 15 seconds to comply. You are in direct violation of penal code 113, section 9." BADASS

I don't think we're too far off from near fully autonomous bi-pedal robots armed with military-grade weaponry. Although a well placed soviet made RPG-7 rocket propelled grenade would probably make short work of such a device (ED-209).

Still good for urban urban pacification though.

  • My dad took me and my friends to see Robocop when it came out. My dad didn't care about the violence in the movie. Damn I miss the 1980's.

  • lol I love the paranoia over violence. People can tell the difference between reality and fantasy, young or not. The media and soccer mom parents are so fucking stupid. The language thing is even worse. Do they really think their kids aren't saying worse things at school anyway?

  • "call the paramedics!"

um......i don't think they can cure 67 gunshot wounds plus 10 punds of missing flesh...but i'm no doctor!

  • Yeah, its one of the best jokes in any sci-fi film, ever ^_^

  • They killed Kenny... YOU BASTARDS!!!!

  • ahhhh the over the top violence in Robocop was brilliant. As funny as this part was, the movie was actually pretty damn good as well.

  • So I don´t know now, is this scene a "deleted scene" or is it only on some versions. Does anybody know? IOs it Directors cut or Unrated or X-Rated version?

  • About 15 years ago I get Robocop movie on VHS recorded from TV (in Austrailia) and there was almost no blood scenes: Bobby were shoot twice there, Murphy were never head shoot, dodn´t loose his hand, they didn´t show when Clarence crashed the Toxic guy (i dont remember his name)... Then, 10 years later I bought original movie on VHS and there was everything except this amazing scene, when ED totally destroyed this guy... Now I downloaded Robocop DVD rip, and still, this scene has been cutted out

  • I love the wind down noise. lol.

  • sounds like the millenium falcon when the hyperdrive didn't work!

  • the bit where he carries on getting shot while he is on the table is from the directors cut normally that bit had been taken out! cant believe you dont really see any action flicks with loads of gore like the good ol 80s

  • This is the Rated-X version, so Great ! they just don't make em like this anymore. Gay ass FCC and winey bitches about things being to violent, makes me want to beat some random person face in

  • oh they dont show the part where hes all bloody on the table on tv

  • Now I read people criticize the Old Man being made into a villain in the squeal, but he wasn't a very nice guy to begin with. His problem with Menace-209 was the setbacks it could create after seeing it act, not that it had killed someone and that Jones had allowed to come in with life ammo.

Thing had pretty voice. Menacing, machine sound, and emotionless.

  • His WINDOWS crashed again!

  • Arousing.

  • i agree, dude, hes dead and i know he owed you that $20 but he dosent need a paramedic, besides, even if i got to use a gun, or the robot was as safe as hell, hes freaking scary as shit. Idiot? i think so

  • LOL Call a Paramedic? I think you should just call the morgue!

  • and the cleaners. ;)

  • this film pisses all over the shit that is made now

  • why didn't kenny run out of the room? I would of done that

  • This film, The Terminator and Aliens are the quintessential 80's scifi films. This movie is
