@mrhuge815 Most of the Sultans were composers themselves and they were playing piano, violin or other Classical musical instruments. They always asked professional composers to come and play in Istanbul and took private lessons from them. It wasn't a catch-up thing Sultans liked classical music and interested with it. Besides none of the national anthems in other European Empires was composed by the Empire himself, of course Sultans hired composers for a national anthem.
