What She sings here goes beyond description, there's no words to Describe all her Greatness and Majesty. She gave to Melancholy a new meaning. Rest in Peace Queen of Passion.
Se smutkem v duši zde čtu, že nám odešla navždy nejlepší Rusalka, kterou jsem poznala. Mne bude její hlas provázet vždy, neb mám nahrávku celé opery v provedení Šubrtová, Žídek, Haken- to byli nejlepší interpreti této opery- tedy pro mne!!!
Prostě úžasná, na Rusalku chodím každý rok (někdy dvakrát), a vždycky si řeknu "Proč to nemůžu dneska slyšet zrovna takhle..." mám pocit, že dnes se jí nikdo nerovná.
Nothing wrong with her vibrato. Part of her voice, and maybe excessive becouse of the mono recording. I just love this kind of voice, some call it Slavic.
I agree that the aria is a greatly dynamic piece, and I would also like to hear it more. As for the singer, her voice is alright, she still handled the aria well, with great legato and a lot of passion. The aria is a good exercise for lower/middle register.
Thanks to the person who referred me to this when I commented that I find this a far superior piece of music than the "Song to the Moon". Yet this aria is hardly ever heard. I don'tmuch like this singer's voice (too much vibrato) but it's great that this beautiful, sad aria has been posted.
@Pathtith I agree, not too much bravado, she doesn't sound like a chipmunk, just a very dramatic and "slavic" style. It's a miracle to sing in this language, I've tried it and when done badly it sounds like a cat on a fence.

Excellent singing, very moving, and great conductor. Chalabala I think. I prefer this version to Neumann's.
