@88Sharks as long as the puck doesn't stop before the goal line, it counts. if you notice sometimes a player will do full 360 degree spin and tuck it behind the goalie that counts as well. for example (Steven Stamkos Penalty Shot Goal vs Habs 30/12/2010)

@MrTrepaz I think you should ask the goalie that question. Once he seen that kids speed and crazy move, fake slap shot then release he probably did not know the puck was by him until it already past.

The kid should audacity and balls by coming out with such confidence considering it was his first step up to the big leagues. Fans like seeing that and that is why there is a big "uproar" over it. It is comparable to the new kid getting a touchdown, a homerun, a 360 slamdunk or a knock out.
