Trumbull High School Marching Band 2008 Championships

09 was the coolest year for marching band in mac. I'm a senior at Norwalk and this year was Trumbull's best show and our best show in my four years.

@aetos2009 Our band is great and we do not tolerate those things, so we are sorry for what you have heard. We, the band kids, are told before every competition to make sure we are respectful to the other bands. So what you heard was obviously not meant to sound 'nasty' to the other band kids. I take pride in my band.

BUT I DO love watching the Trumbull marching band videos - you guys are great :)

the trumbull colorguard is literally one of the best highschool colorguards i have ever had the pleasure of seeing live they are so so talented and get better every year <3 in a few years they very well could be at the top of scholastic world in the winter!! loved their show this past winter and love the fall show this year! hope to see it on youtube soon

ok people i just read all of these comments that you posted and i gotta say im pissed off. for one reason both teams did greats PROPS OR NO PROPS ok. its not what you have on the field it what you do to make your show come to life and show how hard you worked on it. so what that if norwalk won that year, trumbull did a good job also. also theres no need to put kids parent into this they work hard just as well. i came in 2nd my freshmen of high school yea i was upset but i worked harder!!!

WOW!!! that was one hell of a show. i was left speechless. thumbs up to the guard and band. I was in the Passaic High School Marching Band in New Jersey i definitely miss it and u guys took me back. You guys are wonderful. keep up the outstanding work. again WOW!

both shows were good, but the judges' choice is the judges' choice. stop trying to justify norwalk's win because of simply the props. the judges obviously were looking at more than that. i won't say anything else, because i think it's really immature of both sides to criticize the other's approach to marching band. just try harder next year if you think you deserve the win.

this was probably one of the most fun I've had doing a show, but it's a shame we didn't win. except I've come to realize it's not all about winning, its mostly about us having fun.

I'd like to say my congrats to every band that performed that evening. No matter which band you're in, you worked your tail off. No matter how "biased" the judges were,or how "hard" your show was,needless to say,every single bando,every band parent,& everyone else involved with the bands gave it their best.

The numbers are what they are,& they can't change. The shows won't change;it's over now. We just all need to be civil,forget the hatred,& be proud of one another for lasting another season.

Thank you. We are all still very emotional about this subject, but I think we all need to focus on the positive--like what an amazing job these kids did all season long! It was such a pleasure to watch them each week. I am so proud of them it's ridiculous.

all im saying is that i dont think it was right that someone said that props are bad. Like i said before its all about putting on a show. I feel that trumbull did a good job its just that there shows are very similar every year thats it. Thats not being rude thats telling the truth.

props or no props, we all worked just as hard as one another all season and no matter how upset i am that we lost, all of the other bands such as Newtown i think it was, who were cheering us up and saying all these nice things and they know how we feel really showed me the right way to act to a loss because i have never lost. so im happy for norwalk, and i cant believe people have to nerve to trash each other when each and every one of us knows how hard band is.

I'm in the drumline for Danbury High School. I didn't see Norwalk's show at champs cuz we were finishing packing up, but me and a couple of my friends watched caught guys from the very top of the bleachers. You guys blew me away. That last chord that ends the show was frightening.

I videotape and post these performances for people's enjoyment. Since I go through the effort of doing this, I am imposing rules for comments.

Anyone who wants to comment on Norwalk's program, philosophy, or creative vision, either positive or negative, should feel free to do so ELSEWHERE. This is not a forum for tearing down ANY band. Trumbull parents, we are above this!

TsubasaTRC713 i dont even go to norwalk high and i feel you and anyone who thinks like you are wrong. Marching Band is about putting on a show for the crowd and judges. That is something norwalks band uderstands. Its not about just going out there and playing you have to sell the show. Props are part of the show theres no problem with them. Trumbull shows are easy and the same every year and the judges finally got that! the drum breaks the forms everything the same!

are you guys seriously mad that we had 1 little prop..wow some jail cells, our parents worked hard to make that prop to make people understand our show and that wasn't the reason why we won, its because the judges actually got what we were doing and the way that we portrayed it visual and musically with our determination and hard work...you know we can't get first all the time, Yeah u guys got undefeated but its not the battles that count its the war.

Dear Trumbull marching band.

I am from Newtown and i watched this show from the high bleachers, you guys were great.

We lost to Cheshire after 3 and a half years of being undefeated, we got over it... but dont be upset., you guys deserved first and you guys were great. You guys played this amazing.

sorry to say this, but no. I understand that the norwalk band works hard, but they play it safe. they hide behind props. Firebird 2008 not only had outstanding visuals and marching, but the music and colorguard were amazing. Such power and raw emotion is something that Trumbull is known for.Outstanding Marching, Outstanding Colorguard, Outstanding Music,and Outstanding Dedication and Passion. Norwalk may have won this season but trust me, Trumbull will be back with a vengance.

I am a part of the Trumbull band and coming in 2nd this year was hard on all of us, we have come to terms with it and we are proud but for jerkazoid to say that our show was not better this year confuses me, we went undefeated this entire season except for championships..explain to me how our show isn't better? I don't think that if we had lost the whole season and won championships I would feel like a champion,I would feel like it was a mistake,thats just my opinion though.

wait didn't Norwalk and trumbull only compete 3 times and the rest Norwalk won against other bands, so we definently don't feel as if it was a mistake, that's my opinion tho lol
