  • No ones got no dough but all the worlds here wasting it....always money for thrills a twist and never money for food...

SOMETIMES I DESPAIR THE SPECIES YOU KNOW?

    Yes I do know..

Ecclesiastes_1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

What a sad despicable creature we are.. As Bill Hicks put it we're a virus with shoes

  • dang this movie is brilliantly awesome!

  • 3:20...classic song to this movie...intensifies the scene...can't find it anywhere.

  • why are so many people asking why connor killed mikes family and tried to kill mike? watch the earlier part of the movie when connor shoots that guy in the head at the warehouse. its obvious that connor was behind stolen booze and not the guy they had the funeral for. so connor was trying to kill the witnesses, which was mike and micheal. but connor was insane and a drunk, so he killed the wrong kid. jealousy plays a role in connors insanity, but it wasnt his motive for killing

  • @americanjedi77 Yeah kind of like your troops in Iraq and Afghanistan that you're so proud of?

  • Headshot!

  • what goes around comes around. imagine being born into a family like that.

  • This is a pretty rockin' movie, but i do think that the music is pretty much carrying the mood, which isn't a bad thing, but i dunno if i'd like the movie as much or care as much about the plot if it was without its soundtrack.

  • Part of me wonders if Mike woulda spared the one dude if he hadn't drawn against him like that.

  • @Phoenix7786 he would have spare him, you can tell he only turned and shot that guy out of reaction to drawing his gun

  • I found a few variations of the song "King Porter Stomp", the best two are by Benny Goodman and then the closest one, I think is Bob Crosby and his Orchestra.

  • I don't understand why the Academy overlooked this film, It was amazing and a real eye opener to real movies. I went from watching shit like camp rock to this. I am glad this movie exist, if not I'd still be watching fucking hannah montana

  • The best movie of 2002. Chicago can go fuck itself.

  • 4:29 Loooooool.

  • critics weren't bad it got an 85% on rotten toamtoes!

  • Name of the song please please please at 3:20-3:30

  • @Pentagon1311 It's the "King Porter Stomp" by Jelly Roll Morton (1923) which originally is a piano piece. This version is jacked and pumped and I've looked everywhere for it. There is no mention of the band used to perform it in the scene, nor is it in the film's soundtrack or score. This one stays with you for a long while. Jelly Roll's version is really a great one. This song was also used in "Public Enemies" during the coat room scene between Dillinger and Freschette. Popular tune.

  • @redk1994 I agree, when i first heard this i kept playing those ten seconds over and over again, too bad this version of the song is not available. :(

  • Wish he didn't have to shoot the boxer body guard, he seemed like a good guy

  • 4:31 - The Ultimate "Oh SHIT" moment of young Michael Sullivan Jr's life.

  • How many people said "Oh, Shit" at 3:30?

  • @hjb103055

    : ))..me

  • The speakeasy scene with the blaring jazz background was the best in the movie IMO.

  • @AledoCasizzle I agree the tension was beautiful

  • @sk8crazz3ee gay

  • what a movie

  • This movie is actually pretty good. Had to watch it for English to study it, it's soundtrack is amazing and so is this cast.

  • the antouchables is gay campared to this movie this 1 is better

  • This is one of the great films that should be left to history alongside the Godfather, Carlitos Way, The untouchables.

  • @americanjedi77 Shooting women and children doesn't make someone less of a man to me. Shooting women and children tells me that this here is a person with ice cold water running through his veins for he is willing to destroy what we as a society value as sacred and innocent. Killing the innocent and defensless is the mark of a devil, not a coward, for a coward wouldn't have even concieved of such a plan. He's a monster.

  • @Dresden1065 true, very true, in Connors mind, it had to be done, but even still he was visibly shaken after doing it

  • The critics can SUCK MY DICK. This is the best movie Tom Hanks has ever played in. What a great movie of vengeance and just... a great flick. Fuck the critics, hacks.

  • @americanjedi77 its a movie it didt really happen..

  • @cba2makeaname

We all wish, but the STINK is all around!

  • wats the song called anyone know cause that is one gangster song man haha

  • That cutoff point was perfect as a cliffhanger haha

  • Rooney is such an imbecile. No wonder he treats micheal more of a son than rooney. He either extremely sick and psychotic or just plain stupid.......

  • Thomas Newman's score really makes this movie

  • look how he analyses the boxer & club owners expressions > sullivan has great instinct

  • Connor is a coward sins he killed a defendless woman and her child instead of face off Michael like a man

  • Every single phrase...every movement...every sentence...every word in this movie has the deepest meaning! It really does follow that saying : "You can't judge a book by it's cover". I'M LOVING THIS MOVIE!!!!

  • I feel kind of sorry for the dumb boxer that got killed. He did not seem like too bad a dude

  • Well if you think about it he did pull his weapon when Mike went to shoot Mr. Calvino with the intention of killing Mike. All these guys mixed up in this industry are bad. I don't know if he would be a contract killer like Mike was if he ever got hired, but it still doesn't make him a good guy if he works for Rooney :)

  • @inkey2 Yeah but if he tryed to kill you then you wouldnt give a shit about how kind he was moments before.

  • question: what is the deal with "the letter". Is it implied that it was an order from the higher ups or did that crazy son of the boss take it on himself to do this?

  • If you watch part 4, Connor says his dad "Forgot" to give him the letter. He never had a letter signed, he never wanted Mike killed. Connor wanted to impress his father by killing Mikes family and having Mike killed by the guy at the bar who got the letter, therefore sealing Mikes son from telling anyone about witnessing the murder at the factory.

  • to Alientank. Thanks for the answer. Makes perfect sense

  • he didn't really want to impress his father. he wanted to kill Michael jr. since he thought that mike would tell about him killing Fin. John Rooney wouldn't of approved of Connor killing Sullivan's family at all

  • Comment removed

  • @inkey2 Connor did it himself, so he could kill Mike Jr and protect his secret about him stealing his Dads money.

  • For all those who are searching for it...

I think the sound in the club it's a particular version of "King Porter Stomp" by Benny Goodman.

If you listen to the final part of the original song they are nearly identical.

  • I thought that was so sad, because the Mom knew there was nothing she could do but she stands in the way to protect her son.

  • I believe the name of the Jazz song in the speakeasy is called One O'Clock Jump

  • 4:30... smooth...

  • The way the mom tries to protect her kid...legit.

  • man trying to find out what the name of that song is killing me

  • i thought the italians and irish had a code not to get the family invalved?

  • Well i think the only code it's that you have to avenge your family if someone mess with...and...as in the movie...

  • damn there not even brothers but he feels that his old man has a bond with michael than him where any guy would be screwed in the head with overcome by jealous but still he shouldn't have killed the wife N kid they had nothing to do with it wut a asshole.

  • i watched the movie but i guess i missed that part.

  • does anyone know the title of the swing-track used in the club?

  • *Jazz track

  • There are exception, it just part of the job.

  • james bond sucks ass

  • "What brings you here? Don't imagine it's the pussy... hihihihi"

    Hilarious laugh

  • like hanks would not have a strong enough hand to control the fam.............besides best hits are done by singles..why let some one who the cops could leverage know shit

  • i love the part from 3:00 - 3:35 :)))) GRAET!!

  • i know...

hes a strsight killer this is probably the

10th time i watch that part

  • yeah thats great acting i love that part

  • anyone knows what's the title of the song played in the club?

  • awsome movie

  • I'd forgotten how good this movie was!

  • i love it how sullivan is nice to the bodyguard and even says he'll ask rooney for work but he just ends up shooting him :-)

  • gangster

  • way to go Mr. Bond! backstabbing bitch

Sucks that Jennifer Jason Leigh didn't have much of a role :(

  • 3:32, so much for getting a new job as a body guard for connor....

  • I love that scene. The whole way Sullivan reads the body language, followed the guy's eyes to reveal the gun, and manages to take them both out without batting an eye.

  • The reflection scene in the door was just plain POWERFUL! A classic scene if there ever was one.

  • FUCK THE CRITICS! This is a really really really good movie, this should at least win more oscars, like alot of oscars like the same amount of oscars given for the Godfather Part 2.

  • @ThunderEagle115 hell yeah

  • @ThunderEagle115 The critics... enjoyed this movie.

  • @ThunderEagle115 yeah, the critics are morons who couldn't get a real job

  • Comment removed

  • @ThunderEagle115

I agree with you, this is a very very very good film I've watched, and I agree with you saying that the film should've won more oscars...

  • @MrPlaythroughs101 it should have. but u no what. at least there'a a copy of this on Blu-Ray now

  • @ThunderEagle115

    good to hear. ;)

  • is anyone having any problems viewing part 5??? coz it wont load up on my computer!

  • that son of a bitch

  • So why did Connor want Mike dead???

  • Connor hated Mike because he felt that John (Paul Newman) loved Mike more. He was jealous. He killed the mother and the other son b/c he thought the other son was the one that saw what Mike Jr. saw.

  • Well that and he's just fucking crazy, paranoid. I don't know that he was jealous of Mike. But anyone with any sense could have deduced that Michael (the son) would never have told anyone what he saw. Even if he did, it wouldn't have mattered much in those days, that mob ran the town and the 4/5 of the police were probably on the take, if not all of them.

  • 3:29 He is pretty fast! Still, what it comes to hitmen, I prefer Vincent.

  • vincent from colloterall????

  • Exactly.

  • aww... they killed Liam Aiken off...

  • hi what is the music of the club please i dont find it in the ost

  • I guess it was a good thing Lil Micheal got into fight and had to stay late

  • i was going to ask why connors wanted sullivan and his family dead. but nevermind. thanks haitiangangsta.

  • Hello, thanks for that piece, sorry for the question again but what`s the title of the piece they play in the club. I can`t find it. thx

  • Not 100%, but I think it's "Everybody loves my baby" by Sharkey Bonano

  • DEATH TO CONNORS!

  • ... Heh. Connor is a psychopath... but I still love him! I can't help it! Daniel Craig is HAWT!

  • nah connor wuz jealous that he is in trouble and that mike wuz with him but didnt get in trouble

  • wow awesome scene

  • I love how calm Michael Sullivan is walking into enemy territory - he can rely on his rank so much that he's able to intimidate without a gun.

  • I love the tension in this scene as Tony reads the letter :D Awesome

  • Tension.....never used so well in any movie I have ever seen.

  • HE KILLED LIAM!

  • I'd really like to know the name of that song in the background. Fantastic Movie

  • look up the soundtrack

  • that specific piece of music is not featured on the soundtrack

  • I had forgotten how awesome this movie is.
