I was under the impression this was Don Powell vocals. are you sure its this Maurizio Graf guy? the singing sounds almost identical to a track like Deadly Morning or Texas Addio
@QuinnDougherty in addition, You can notice recurring themes throughout Powell's work, its his signature style. the lyrics of "Texas Addio" deal with the relationship between love and hate, as one 'becomes a man'. This is the same lyrical content of "eye for an eye". Also, in "a deadly morning" the lyrics contain the phrase "eye for an eye". one might call it coincidence, but i maintain that it could be a motif developed and returned to by the artist.
Thank's a lot !
This song always makes me laugh. I have this version and the italian version, reminds me of pastures of plenty in how shocking it is to hear the theme from the dollars films with lyrics. Wish Morricone still made this kind of music though :(
Hi! there is a quite similar song from Elvis Presley's only western called CHARRO. Sung by the King himself. I will upload it and post it as a video response if you like.
Per filmscoremaniac's comment - 'I'm pretty sure the vocal was only done for a record single' - I know I had this vocal version included on an Italian issue LP for 'For a Few Dollars More', that I cound in the '70s. I would like to find that same album on CD, if it even exists. Great score for this film!
I'm pretty sure the vocal was only done for a record single. It's not used in the film, though you can find the track on some of the newer issues of this soundtrack.
Bellissimo Maurozio !

When I first listen to this song, I thought it was pure crap (well the singer), but after listening to it multiple times, I was in love.

I love this version. Wouldn't have worked in the film, but a great supplement to the film.

Wow--first time ever I've heard this vocal version. It's good for a listen or two, but I'm glad Leone knew enough not to use it in the film.

Was Graf really involved during the film? or did he just make the music after the film?

P.S. here it is. But maybe I was wrong. Listening to the song again, it's a bit different from what is was in my memory.
