why has no castlevania game since, had the whipping control that castlevania 4 had, being able to whip in 8 directions was great, but you can't do that in any other one.
What a horrible review. Rather than talk about the graphics, gameplay, music, price or the comparisons with the original (just from looking at this, I'd guess that it's an update of Castlevania: The Adventure on GB), he spends 6 minutes talking about eyeball jellyfish and fanboy pleading Konami to remake games he likes. The only thing that I learned from this review is to look anywhere else but Classic Game Room HD for a review in the future. Yeesh.,
They should make that and release it on the NES. Or Super Life Force for the N64!!!
Life Force was originally named Salamander, and a sequel was made named Salamander 2, but that only on arcade. So as far as I'm concerned Life Force 2 is up for grabs! And should be up for discussion in the creative department of Konami.

this is my opinion of video games that are being remade: In my opinion, I think they should remake other games other than mario, megaman, contra, and castlevania. They should remake robocop vs. the terminator for the genesis, ghosts and goblins arcade, splatterhouse arcade, and my most wanted one, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR THE ARCADE GAME BY CAPCOM! THat would be the shit! Please remake that arcade game! Put it on the wii, or the xbox live arcade games! For gods sake, do it already!
This game is very fun, but only if your in it for the long haul as you cannot continue later, save or use passwords to start where you want to. The only thing I find annoying is the keys. Yes, you can unlock doors to alternate paths to make some level easier (and sometimes harder), but most of the time they just give you an extra heart or a sub-weapon that you already have. Very good game 9.5/10 aka must get.

Every music you hear in the game has been a Castlevania music through and through. There are even GEM you've never heard of. For example, 'Lullaby Sent to the Devil', stage 2 music is a remix of Haunted Castle's RANKING SCREEN! Such an awesome song is a ranking screen song.

I love the minute of silence where you had to think of stuff to say, followed by just telling us exactly what's on screen. "This game is great.. uh.. uh... there's eyeballs."
I guess this is the gameboy remake, wish they've kept the diagonal wihp attack from the Super Castlevania IV, at least you don't die if you jump down to another room without taking the stairs.

It's a shame I actually feel the need to play half of these wiiware games on Dolphin. They look 1000% better and I get to use whatever controller I want. I believe in playing the game I paid for.
@VonSeux fair comment. My rant really concerned the fact these games will only output an interlaced signal. I just threw the controller comment in for the hell of it. I still prefer to use my Buffalo Famicom pad for PC with Dolphin though.
If I had to use the real Wii, then I'd probably use my real SNES pad and buy a retro adapter to use it wired through one of the gamecube ports
@wootlanter Ive seem some SNES controllers adapted for wii, its very nostalgic but the Classic Controller has essentially the same design, so im good with it ;)
As for the graphics, im not sure about the 480p output... but the game is 4:3 on purpose and looks fantastic on a old CRT television
Didnt know Dolphin could run WiiWare games tough... this is one of my favourite on the service and even on the series, along with Bloodlines... i play trough it multiple times just for the fun!
I can honestly say that this game is better than Symphony of the Night, in my opinion! I admire the colour scheme and the music is perfect and so fresh. Also once for all, you get to choose the difficulty level and how many continues you want. Though ReBirth is only downloadable one can always save it to a SD-card, and 1000 Wii points for this brilliant title is definitely not too much, so every Castlevania fan should really play it NOW!

WoW someone who knows of Life Force ! The most difficult game EVER. But I know that flying a space ship through the body of a dragon in outer space, to destroy it from the inside... IS AWESOME ! Was this originally a Gameboy game? That's what I've read, and it looks nothing like Castlevania for the NES. I wish they had remade that one. I want to love this, but something about it just isn't impressing me. Maybe it's Simon's sprite - he looks less like he's wearing a leather cuirass and more like he's just got a red sleeveless shirt. The Scooby Doo sound effect when skeletons throw their bones is a little off-putting as well.

I want them to bring back the smoothness and style in control that they just about perfected back in Super Castlevania IV. Its one SNES cart I sometimes toss into the system just to have on for the music. It also has music from the earlier castlevania games in it. If you don't have a copy yet please check it out to see what I consider to be the best Castlevania of them all. But I'm biased.

Konami copyrighted the names 'Salamander (i.e. Life Force) Rebirth' and 'Jackal Rebirth' a while back. Let's hope they use them for something. The Rebirth games I've played so far are awesome.

i just bought this yesterday, but the thing i noticed was that it doesn't save the game when you leave, i wish i knew this before i bought it. or is there a way to save?

Was this originally a Gameboy game? That's what I've read, and it looks nothing like Castlevania for the NES. I wish they had remade that one. I want to love this, but something about it just isn't impressing me. Maybe it's Simon's sprite - he looks less like he's wearing a leather cuirass and more like he's just got a red sleeveless shirt. The Scooby Doo sound effect when skeletons throw their bones is a little off-putting as well.

@CreepyMcCreep Yes, the adventure series was a line of games for the gameboy, back in the late 80's, but it faded away with the 'metriodvanias' came around thanks for the sucsess of SOTN on the ps1

I want them to bring back the smoothness and style in control that they just about perfected back in Super Castlevania IV. Its one SNES cart I sometimes toss into the system just to have on for the music. It also has music from the earlier castlevania games in it. If you don't have a copy yet please check it out to see what I consider to be the best Castlevania of them all. But I'm biased.

Ehh, the cartoonish sound when the skeleton throws a bone (4:20) :D I like Super Castlevania IV the best because you can whip in 8 directions. It's a really cool game.

Konami copyrighted the names 'Salamander (i.e. Life Force) Rebirth' and 'Jackal Rebirth' a while back. Let's hope they use them for something. The Rebirth games I've played so far are awesome.
